Blue with green...........

I cut green strips yesterday morning and last night sewed a bunch of blue with green strips.  Now I'll do some blue with blue and green with green.

I finished mowing the lawn and then because I count as I'm doing a task, I cut 100 goldenrod and tall weeds and carried them to my yard waste pile at the back of the lot.  There are at least 100 more to do and then that side of my house will look a lot better.  If you wonder why I count, it makes the task go faster and is much more interesting to do that way.

  1. Everyone has their own methods of making this work for them. I try and count as I make blocks and usually I'm off by several. Good memory work also. The green and blue remind me of the decor coloring from my Aunt's house in the 60's. I always loved them together. Looking like it is moving along fast. Chris

  2. I love the quilt blocks. The analogous colors always get me and I love the narrow strip randomly placed.

  4. I really love the blue and green ones. This looks like a great project and I just finished up my last top (on my blog it is a mountain majesty I found on Bonnie Hunters Blog.......I made mine blue and orange). By the way thanks for the reply yesterday I hope I edited my setting correctly......if you can reply again I will see. I have been reading your blog for a couple of months now and love your daily posts with your beautiful colors. I have been trying to post on my blog more often and about twice a week is the best I can do now.

  6. Love these blues and greens. Are you like me and stop and recount if I loose count? ;-D I have a friend whose mother used to do square roots in her head to keep her brain "alert". We laughed and said we couldn't do them on paper.

  10. lovely blocks with strips, and counting, I have been called " Mrs Count" at times, I count the daffodils as I pick the blooms, again as I dead-head others, and always look at car number plates!!! Keep counting and those weeds will vanish so fast. Cheers,Jean

  11. Thank God! I thought I was the only one that counted like that and thought maybe I was going goofy.

  15. My husband caught me discreetly (I thought!) counting the Pringles at supper, one night. "Well," I said, "I eat them in twos, so I need to know if there's an odd or and even number of them."

I count my breathing as a meditation/sleeping technique. No points off for losing count there, though: Accepting that I will lose count is part of it. I just start at one again. If I lose count soon and/or often, I know I'll fall asleep sooner. If I make it to 300 without missing, I take that as a cue to get up and do something else for a while.

There are some other things that I count, but I don't count everything, so I don't think I'm obsessive, but yes, I guess I'm compulsive at times.

  16. Very pretty. You have so many of the same (older) fabrics that I do, but I still like them, and hoard a few of them for the perfect project.

  17. Beautiful. It's wonderful how such a simple block and design can shine when just the right combination of fabrics/colors/values are used.
