It's time to clean the basement again for the art quilters to come on Monday. While I was down there I was looking at my boxes of pieces on a shelf unit. I pulled these 2 boxes.
I decided to play awhile so I designed and sewed 3 table runners and 2 table toppers. Then back to cleaning.
I noticed my first tiger lily blooming in the front garden. Then I noticed one in the back garden too.
Also in the front garden the Rudbeckia is blooming.
The purple balloon flowers have been blooming for awhile and now the pale pink ones are blooming too. I pulled out a bunch of evening primrose that the Japanese beetles have been feeding on. Also pulled out a bunch of bindweed and there is a lot more to do.
Sewing and gardening... what could be better? Especially if the weather is cooperating.
ReplyDeleteit seems there is always more to do in the garden.
ReplyDeleteI love it when I stumble across remnants of a completed project and discover a way to use them. The flowers in your yard look so nice and fresh. Our blooming season is pretty much finished.
ReplyDeletewe are just enough ahead of you in season that my tiger lilies will be dying off shortly, I have enjoyed them for almost 3 weeks now
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your posts full of flowers... and how you had time to sew all those table toppers is beyond me. Even though you had the pieces cut out that is still speedy sewing... You have not slowed down in all your years. And I remember how fast your sewed, at your days at Kaufman's. (*._,*)

Beautiful ! My two very favorite hobbies :)
ReplyDeleteI've never had success with the Tiger Lily though.
I like your cleaning and getting side tracked to do a bit of quilting. Love your flowers too.
