This 6" Northwind quilt is harder than the first one I made. I have lots more blocks to make to get the variety I need. I cut enough pieces for 7 more blocks yesterday and pieced 4. I spent most of the day working on my program that I will be giving a week from tonight for the DeKalb County Quilters Guild. If you live anywhere near here and would like to come, the location is St. Mary’s
Parrish Annex, 210 Waterman
Street, Sycamore, IL 60178. There is a $5 guest fee. Thursday June 26 2014 at 7 p.m.
My program is called Exuberant Color and so far I have 57 quilts and tops chosen to show in the trunk show.
Wow... that is a lot of quilts... If you pick a few more you won't have to use any words!!!! There is some definite shimmer in this little one!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I would LOVE to be there. Fifty-seven of your beauties! The mind reels!
ReplyDeleteI cannot fathom seeing 57 of your quilts in one place at one time. I wish I lived in driving distance. It is going to be amazing, just like you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so bummed. I would love to come but 4 1/2 hrs is a bit too long for me. I need to talk to our program chair so maybe you could come to Indianapolis. Would you do that?
ReplyDeleteI do wish I were close enough to come for your presentation. I am sure it will be delightful
ReplyDeleteOh Wanda, I am so bummed I will miss your presentation! It is the one evening I have a conflict - anyway, good luck, and I know they will love your quilts, and you!

ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of everyone who will get to see your trunk show!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many tops I took to the last lecture I had probably around 25 and that was a heck of a load to haul. 57! I hope they give you a hand carrying them in and then back to the car. I can already hear the ooohs and awwws!
ReplyDelete'Northwind' is mesmerizing to look at and I can see why this one might be a challenge. But I KNOW, it will be spectacular !
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I lived near you... your program will knock the socks off of everyone who attends. My cousin told me you are the quilt celebrity in your area. And I believe it.

ReplyDeleteI would love to hear your talk and see your quilts, but I am in Texas and not going anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI live in North Texas. If you ever get to a guild in this area, I will definitely be there. Would love to meet you. Absolutely love your adventurous approach to color and design.
ReplyDeleteSo lucky to have found your blog. Was looking at blogs about quilters sewing studios/rooms. I found yours and was blown away. Diving further into your blog I see you will have a showing this Thursday! I am so excited since I wondered where you are located in northern Illinois. So am I. My husband and I are coming this Thursday to your show. He and I both think your quilts are just lovely! Cindy in northern Illinois bellemarie58@comcast.net
