Sewn together...........

I moved most of the darker blocks to the perimeter of this quilt top and the lighter blocks into the center.  I think it looks a lot more balanced than in the photo yesterday.  This quilt top is about half batiks and half regular quilting cottons.  I got it sewn together last night and amazingly most of the points are still intact.  I find it hard to be perfectly accurate when the quilt is made of all triangles.  It is 42.5" x 54".
I went out late yesterday afternoon with my camera to capture the backyard growth.  I have 2 colors of violets.

The Lungwort is pretty this year.

This bed is right outside my dining room window.  By mid summer you can't even see my stepping stones because all of the plants are overlapping.  The Wild Geranium is almost ready to bloom.

  2. I like that too. Happy I didm´t have to chose :-)
Spring has not come so far here in Sweden (Stockholm). It is sunny but rather cold. As soon as it gets warmer it will explode.

  7. I had to go back and look at yesterdays photo, yes I like today's version better. I have more yard work to do today I got 20 minutes of quilting in yesterday and that was it! Today close to 90! and last week was 50's I hate it when that happens, no time to get used to it.

  8. I love the layout with the lighter blocks in the middle. It gives the quilt movement.

  9. I REALLY like this much better also. I didn't see one thing wrong with the first layout, but this WOW now. Love it.

Oh how I love the violets, my favorite springtime blossom. Your plants in your gardens were not hurt by your long, heavy snowy, winter. Thanks for sharing.

  12. The quilt - and your points (which isn't something I generally examine) - look great!
I find it hard to do ANYTHING which is mostly triangles - forget keeping the points!

  13. Do you cut all pieces with rotary cutter or do you use something else? Do you piece with machine?
