Number 3 flannel quilt quilted this month, number 4 flannel quilted this year. My goal was to use up some flannel and to have a few quilts on hand to use as gifts or to sell. I used 33 yards of flannel in the 4 quilts, all from my stash. This one ended up 59" x 75" so it didn't shrink much with quilting since I used a large meander on it. Tight quilting will make more shrinkage. I have one more to quilt that I pieced last year.
A flannel quilt would be sooo cozy in your neck of the woods. At 80 degrees-it probably would be in a cupboard here and that would be sad as it is lovely. Like the dark squares and what they do to the design.
This quilt turned out fabulous! 33 yards is a lot of fabric! I look at my stash sometimes and wonder how many quilt could I really make out of all that fabric.
You are such an inspiration, Wanda! I am working on a version of your jumbled library quilts right now. I hope you agree that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Wow! 33 yards used? That alone is impressive, but, seeing what you have done with the fabric is even more impressive! This quilt begs to be cuddled with!
You are really managing to make a very significant dent in your stash. Something I've almost never seen or heard of anybody being able to do. Good for you. I'm impressed! And the a final quilts are beautil!
Progress! and room for more fabric!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is s lot of yardage. Four flannel quilts and one more in the works. That is a whole lot of flannel for some lucky guys or gals to cuddle with.
ReplyDeleteMaking a dent in the stash is a good thing. This looks like a quilt you would curl up with a good book on a snowy day. Chris
ReplyDeleteI like how the quilting seems to disappear in this quilt and it is the color and pattern that your eye focuses on.

ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and design. Can just imagine how soft and warm it feels.
ReplyDeleteLove this one, almost as much as the one I have and snuggled up in all winter. (*._,*) Your flannels are designed with an such an elegant flare.
