The baby quilt...........

When I asked the parents to be what color quilt they wanted for the baby the dad said blue and gray.  Then he said cowboys.  So this was my idea of cowboys.

But this was his idea of cowboys - Dallas version.......blue and gray.  I alternated H blocks for Baby H with Cowboys fabrics.

Yesterday I met the baby for the first time - my great-grandson.  He is a little over 2 months old now.  I had forgotten how hard it was to hold a natural smile while the photographer waits for the baby to look pleasant, or hopefully smile.

He's a little cutie and a good baby too.  I'll have to wait awhile for him to tell me if he likes his quilt.

  14. Cute! I would have done the cowboys like you. In fact I've been collecting cowboy and Texas fabric for a quilt for my youngest. He grew up in Texas but lives in Iowa now. Not a big football fan but he's a Bubba as we call rednecks.

  36. What do father's know? Cowboys, I too would have thought "cowboys and Indians". I like your idea best for a baby. What a cute great grandson. I wonder if I will be around when I have one. lol Kids don't get married young anymore like I did. The baby looks like a great addition to the family. Congrats!!!!

  37. I definitely would've gone with the first kind of cowboys as well - and, as you know, I don't have good experiences with letting recipients have input on their quilts. You did a great job. Perfect compromise.
I'm not a "baby person" but I firmly believe that no baby is bad! And your Baby H certainly looks like a healthy and very presentable specimen! Is he your first great grandson? Hope you get to enjoy him as much as you want.
