Quilted two....a great start for March......

I quilted this Stack and Slash quilt yesterday morning.  I had loaded it several days before.  Last night I put the binding on all by machine.

The back is two pieces running the long way.  The stripe is a coordinate of a couple fabrics that are on the front of the quilt.

Fourteen of the twenty fabrics in the quilt are in this photo.

In the afternoon I loaded this quilt and quilted it.  Having several backings pieced and pressed makes it a lot easier to get to the next one right away.  I'll cut the binding for this one today.

I pieced the next Vintage Spin block and haven't trimmed it into a square yet.  The pieces trimmed off would really bother some people but for me they are seeds for another project.

We had 3" of white sparkles (snow) by 11p.m. last night and it was still snowing when I went to bed.

  1. Wow. It takes me several sessions to quilt one quilt. I suppose the longarm really speeds up the process.

  2. I always feels so good to finish the quilting on a project and you even got the binding done. Yeah! We are expecting a front to blow through in the next hour or so and are hoping for some moisture.

  7. Loving the quilts. Think I will ask our library to order the quilt book. They have her other two. Well, it is 70+ and sunny down here.....South Carolina. Really enjoying this nice weather.

  8. I think it would bother me to have to trim that much off, too. Mainly because right now I have more "seeds" than I can use! Your progress is amazing, but then again - so are you!

  10. I do like that spin block. I know what you mean about using the trimmings for another project. That is what I am doing now! it is in the upper teens here and will get to the lower teens by morning!

  11. You are coming in like a "Lion". You have a very good start on this new month. Hopefully the snow on Saturday night is the last of our snow, or am I just dreaming? Warmer temps to come by weeks end. Let some more thaw begin.

  12. Warm, beautiful fabrics. Congratulations on another finish. The stripped fabric worked out nicely in the Vintage Spin blocks. Wondered how that would work out but was okay.
I skipped the Oscars last night as I hadn't seen any of the movies. Movies I like usually aren't mentioned at the Oscars.

  13. Do you have a tutorial for this lovely Vintage block? I am going to try and make a lap quilt before next winter.
    You are so busy!
