I made the final decision on the fabric for the setting triangles and got it pressed and cut. I have all of the side triangles sewn on and just the corners left to do after I sew the rows together. I also pieced a back for another of the flannel quilts.
We got a little more snow last night and now they are predicting up to 5" on Monday. Then...finally....we get the warm up to melt some of it.
I love this flannel quilt, reminds me somehow of something my mom made for us years and years ago... I'd love to see some of your pieced backings now and then. I always feel like I have to either have enough of one fabric for the backing or else that I have to piece something quilt-worthy.
more snow - I feel bad for all of you - we are to get rain and near 60! of course more cold weather might head this way next week - this will be a see saw time now - 60's one week, 40's the next and so on it goes through March.
I had not taken the time to enlarge the photo and study the pattern of this quilt until now. Very simple with the squares and bars, yet the lights structure it to look more complicated. I like the rusty plaid setting triangles - the darker color frames the quilt nicely.
This is such a guy looking quilt. I know my boys would like it if I made something like that for them. It is supposed to be in the 70's here next week. A lot different than the 21 degrees in Abilene last week.
Like a box of chocolates... Just delicious looking. Browns are one of my many favorite colors... To me it has such a nice deep richness that compliments all of your fabrics perfectly. And have always liked your layout on this one.

All our snow/ice has finally melted - central KY - and there isn't any more in the immediate forecast; which I'm hoping means we've had all were going to get this season. Though nothing near what you've had, we've had a lot more than normal, and especially lots of much colder days. So, though I've gotten a lot of sewing done, I've had it!
Sweet! (The side triangles, not the additional snow...)

ReplyDeleteI like this a lot. I think I'm going to do something similar with plaids and stripes for my next QOV.

I really like this one. It's going to be another beauty!
ReplyDeleteThe dark, warm setting triangles give this a look of sophistication that is unexpected with flannels! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI like the warm brown! looks good.
