Flannel..........

I worked on the binding of the Stack and Slash flannel quilt while I watched the Olympics last night.

I used one of the lighter weight flannels for the binding and I used a very narrow zig zag to finish it because that is softer than a straight stitch.

This is the sewing sequence for the Windy City flannel quilt.  The single row hasn't been sewn yet.  I still haven't looked for a setting triangle fabric.  Maybe I'll do that today.

I love that slightly wider binding on the pink/white quilt. What kind of batting did you use? Do you use the same batting on all your quilts? (I seem to recall that you buy it in bulk, on a roll, which would seem to motivate you to use the same batting for everything.)

The quilt turned out lovely! I really like the scrappiness of the Windy City blocks.

Choosing a binding is difficult for me. Love what your chose for your wonderful, cuddly red flannel quilt.
I thoroughly enjoyed the pairs skating last night. Awesome.

That is a great hand stitching finish for Olympic watching.

Nice finish Wanda, makes an great valentine quilt.

I see you have a temp of 15 degrees this morning... We hit 45 yesterday and it is predicted to hit 50 today ! Yup we have lots of melting snow. Kinda of messy, I can only imagine what you will have to cope with when your temps rise. We didn't get half the snow fall you got this winter.

Besides making beautiful quilts, you do beautiful work Wanda, like the perfect finishing on the red flannel quilt. Your HS home ec teacher would be proud! I know - I made some altar treatments for my home town church, and I got a hand-written note from a church member, who was also my home ec teacher. I love the Windy City quilt, too - it really has the scrap look, plus the on-point setting. Winner, winner!

Hi Wanda , when you zig zag a binding down do you use a straight stitch when attaching the binding .
I'd like to try your method

Love the flannel quilt …. the binding color and print work very well with quilt.

You must give a tutorial on how you do your binding….is it all stitched by machine….corners and all? Thank you.
