I had a wonderful family day yesterday. I started teaching my youngest granddaughter how to knit. It started to snow while I was at the party and was getting slippery by the time I came home. I finished cutting all of the red and yellow for the new quilt on my list. I have to come up with at least one more color too because I only have 8 right now and I need either 9 or 12.
A pair of doves was in the tree right outside my kitchen window. I scared them when I walked by the window a few minutes later and both heads shot up in unison. They are funny birds.
Glad you had a nice time with Family. That is what the season is all about. Have fun cutting. Chris
ReplyDeleteWill you have some difficulty narrowing down to just one color!!!! The Chicagoland house had a pair of doves that lived in/near a spruce tree... sadly we had to have it removed last year..... They would return each spring and build a nest. I could watch from the dinning room window!!!
ReplyDeleteyes the birds are fun to watch, I haven't seen many doves this past year and we have them all year round - just not at my house.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good Christmas
Love your reds and yellows. Glad you had a nice day with your family.
ReplyDeleteWe got to facetime with our son and his family in Seattle and spent Christmas afternoon at friends for dinner. Got in some sewing and a nap-altogether a grand day. Love those reds and yellows!
ReplyDeleteIf you need more doves, we have a surplus here . . .
ReplyDeleteThose reds and yellows are so full of joy!
We don't have quite so many birds to watch right now, but we enjoy seeing the deer in our area. So glad you had a good day with family!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd prefer dove watching over pigeons any day, they make such a mess!
ReplyDeleteReds and yellows: that reminds me of a project I started a few months ago using my Accuquilt GO. Whatever happened to those blocks...
Your Christmas Card was just lovely , you captured the peaceful morning of new fallen snow. And Vicki's star that you won... is that fabric sandwiched between two pieces of glass ? It is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour yellow's and red's looks like a delightful piece to be working on. And I always see pairs of doves at my feeder also. They enjoy their cooing call.

That yellow is yummy. I just organized my fabrics today and I do not have much yellow.
ReplyDeleteGo for the 12 color setting Wanda. I know if anyone has the colors to do it, YOU do! LOL
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny - doves are supposed to be so peaceful, and they are some of the meanest birds around. They chase even blue jays off the feeders here!
ReplyDeleteI think 12 colors will be great. It is fun to teach the next generation.
