I made enough blocks to finish this out at 8x10 blocks instead of the planned 7x9. I still need to do a little rearranging. I have 64 warm color blocks still left so I can sew that quilt in the 7x9 configuration.
If you click on this photo you can see that the coneflowers are all across the back garden. The large green leaves are one of the sunflower plants. The other patch of orange tiger lilies is hidden by the redbud tree.
The small sunflowers were turned to face the house today so I had to take another photo. You can see the huge sunflower plant better in this one. The squirrels tried to knock it down so it is leaning to the left but still getting ready to shoot out more blooms.
I love the colors in your quilt. Your garden is wonderful. I like this time of year when many things are blooming especially what I call "old fashion" flowers. I love your garden, reminds me of when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks great. I love the coneflowers in your garden
ReplyDeleteLove how it turned out. Much better than just solid green.
ReplyDeleteIt looks stunning! I love the pink and green together.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way this one is turning out.
ReplyDeleteI like the pink in your quilt and I love your garden!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is very soothing and pleasing to look at. Garden is bursting... just lovely. I love cone flowers.
ReplyDeleteReally like how the green quilt is looking. It's beautiful just like your garden.
ReplyDeleteYes! This looks just stunning! It captures a garden so well. It is amazing how squares can look organic. Once again, you have gone beyond the standard of a well pieced quilt and pushed it into a new strata.
ReplyDeleteI love how you mixed some warm pink blocks with your rich green blocks. Makes me think of pink flowers on a green bush.
ReplyDeleteIf you added a few yellow blocks it would look much like your garden!!! Very Monet.
ReplyDeleteWell now if your quilt doesn't look like your garden I don't know what else does. (*._,*) Love it Wanda.

I love how this quilt is going to look. The pink added in among the greens was inspired!
ReplyDeleteAnd your garden is gorgeous!
Beautiful pictures, Wanda! Your quilt block arrangement and your yard pics just made me smile.
ReplyDeleteOthers have said it, but it is like your garden with coneflowers peeking thru the green. The block with the polka dots green pulls my attention away from the calming effect of the overall piece.
