The last 2 stars are sewn.
All 12 together, but I need to rearrange so the backgrounds are in a more pleasing order.
I took the 16 patch rows off the design walls and labeled them with row numbers.
I didn't get as much done as I thought I would. I only have 5 rows out of 12 sewn together so far.
Still farther along then what you were. It all looks really good and a fun time. We mowed. Chris
ReplyDeleteI am loving everything that you are working on! Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so productive. I love the background fabrics in your star blocks.
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see your sewing machine and set up, puts the quilts in context. Your blocks are clipped by row. Do you see each row one block at a time? I put each row in a pile (I have used blue tape with sharpied numbers- like for row 1-1.1, 1.2,1.3, etc). Then I sew the first 2 blocks of each row together from each pile (say all the blocks numbered 1.1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1 etc to the 1.2, 2.2, 3.2, etc blocks) and then chain on the third block from each row pile until all the piles are sewn. I don't know if that is good or not but it keeps me continuously sewing. Hope that was understandable.

The stars look awesome. That is going to be such a pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteThey are fabulous though I love all your projects!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of machine do you use?
ReplyDeleteYou pick the most interesting background fabrics. It helps expand my color/pattern vocabulary which is a big help! :-)
ReplyDeleteBoth projects are so pretty. How exciting to have two such interesting quilts working at the same time, though I guess that's really a pretty common experience for you. :)
ReplyDeleteThese stars are beautiful. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this and the blue 16 patch quilt tops come together.
ReplyDeleteYou are making lots of progress on both quilts. Are you using the black for the sashing in the stars
