Yesterday morning I cut a bunch more preemie gowns and sewed 8 of them before I left for church sewing circle at 12:30. I had 4 stops to make on the way home (one to pick up my ruler I left at the quilt shop last week) and then to visit Dad and pay his next month's room and board for him. I got home around 6 p.m.
Luckily I had the pieces for 3 more blocks already chosen so I could sew them while I watched "Castle".
I moved a few blocks around so I could decide what I need to include in the last 2 blocks. I think I need some more with white in them. I might make a few extra blocks and then I can eliminate any that aren't adding to the overall beauty of the quilt.
The quilt is coming together nicely. I love the variety and all the bright colors. I still have yet to see a robin here. Maybe later this week - the temperatures are supposed to warm up to "average" for this time of year by the end of the week!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is fantastic. Love all the colors. That robin is so fat I wonder how he can even fly!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is looking so nice...love the colors and designs!
ReplyDeleteAll of your quilts are looking fantastic with superb colors.
ReplyDeletethe quilt is coming along great. I have yet to see a robin - maybe they like colder winters? I have not had them at my feeder. I mainly have finches, wrens, cardinals, woodpeckers & turtle doves
ReplyDeleteI'm not actually a 'bird' expert, but that Robin doesn't look like a fat male, I think it's a female who will be laying a few eggs very soon. Perhaps that also explains the eating...
ReplyDeleteI am loving your recent X&+ blocks, especially the mix of black & white with gorgeous brights!
ReplyDeleteHow big are they? -Babs in NC
The quilt is looking good . Isn't it strange , you shuffle blocks around and suddenly it all clicks into place
ReplyDeleteI am still loving your fabric choices for these blocks! It is interesting to see the blocks with white really draw your eyes.
ReplyDeleteI would have a hard time banishing any of those blocks from the mix. They are each and every one simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is lookin' good!!! I saw a bunch of robins last week. Poor babies must be really cold. I think that is why your robin looks so fat as bird sometimes will plump up their feathers to keep warm. I don't mean make the feathers fat but making it something like a feather bed.
ReplyDeleteYour X+ is fabulous! So much fun to see all the fabrics and how they work together!
ReplyDeleteMan that robin is plumb.
ReplyDeleteYour X+ quilt is really coming together beautifully. Love the riot of colours!
ReplyDeleteI spent the day helping my friend design a bed runner or warmer in EQ6. It was just not coming out right so I started over when I got home! I saw a Robin this morning, but we see them all winter! Tonight will make the third freeze in as many days!
ReplyDeleteJust when I think I have seen it all... You introduce some pretty new blocks.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting ready for a visit from my daughters family and didn't even think about turning on the computer the past two days. Getting some needed spring cleaning done as well.
That fat robin is cold and birds 'fluff' up their down to keep warm. I too am surprised he is eating seeds with the sparrows.
