The art quilters group is coming today so I had some last minute cleaning to finish yesterday. I baked 2 batches of cookies and got 3 blocks pieced. I had to move the blocks to a design wall where I can't get a good photo so I'll put them on a double wall when my company leaves and take a photo. I have 25 blocks done now out of 36.
The cactus with the 2 buds that I thought was going to be white turned out to be pale pink. I have another bud now on the red one after 3 buds dried up. Another one has one bud too and I think it might be one of the 2 tone ones.
I am catching up reading your weekend posts and I love the funky rattlesnake block! Maybe once you can put up all the blocks on your double wall you can decide how it will look in the mix and if you need to add a couple more.
I love it when my cactus blooms. Mine is a family hand me down so to speak, it went from my grandfather to my mother and then to me. There are times I can have up to 20-30 blooms at a time. Then other years nothing. Yours is beautiful.
Hi Wanda, Your blocks continue to look great as you make more and more! I received your package on Saturday...now to pick fabrics! Thank you.
Did you have to shoot the Christmas cactus blossom from underneath (i.e. were you laying on the floor?) Great shot, by the way.
Today our temps are in the 40's. Then, overnight we're getting a "flash freeze" and tomorrow will be a slippery mess for those needing to get somewhere in the morning (I'm one of them). Yikes.
Have fun today.
ReplyDeleteLove your football blocks, my pet name for them. Pretty flowers.

ReplyDeleteCookies along with a Monday full of fun and inspiration for you. Does your group meet all day or for a few hours in the afternoon ?
ReplyDeleteNice blocks and pretty blossom.

I just enjoy watching the progress on the rattlesnake blocks, and the red really catches my eye!

I hope you had fun with your friends!
ReplyDeleteLove that rattlesnake design! Great colours too, I wouldn't have chosen them to make it as my mind doesn't work that way but I REALLY like it.
ReplyDeleteAll looks beautifully accurate too. I think I could manage a more random paper pieced version!
Can't wait to see how you will quilt it! xx
I have an orchid that keeps on blooming. One set of blooms fades and falls off and I have more buds forming at the end of the stalk.
