I made 4 blocks yesterday and added a strip to each of the other 2 crazy pieced blocks so they will be large enough to cut the melon shape out of. I may shuffle some blocks around when I get the last 6 done, but I'm pretty happy with the layout right now. I'm going to draw out a border strip to paper piece to put at the top and bottom to make this into a rectangular quilt.
My friend Rosemary is coming over today so we can baste her latest quilt, a paper pieced log cabin with 4.5" blocks.
My My making lots of progress. A really good day to stay inside also. Can't wait to see the layout. Chris
ReplyDeleteWow a 4 1/2 inch log cabin. That will be something.

ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to find the pieced melon block. And there it was right in front of me. I still have a time with the Rattle Snake name. It is too just too pretty.

ReplyDeleteIt's coming together beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLoving your blocks and I think the pieced blocks are perfectly fun. Now you've got me wondering what the borders are going to look like. Guess I'll wait a couple days and find out, eh? I have a sudden overwhelming urge to work with red/brown. Wonder where THAT came from?? :)
ReplyDeleteI really, really like your scrappy pieced block.
ReplyDeleteFun and unexpected!
Amazing -- and I'm sure "oh, so soft"
ReplyDeleteSuper progress!!
I really like the way it's coming along, and like the previous comment says, it sure looks like it will be soft to use with all those yarn dyes
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It is such a wonderfully warm-looking and cozy group of fabrics. Love that some of the rattlesnakes are curled up in a ball sleeping instead of all the same!
ReplyDeleteI hope the basting went well!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!! Great job Rosemary! Love your orphan blocks too. Any special plans for them yet?
