I only got 2 more Bear Paw blocks made last night. I sewed all morning to finish the 28 preemie gowns and then left for the meeting right after lunch. The other ladies had enough knitted and crocheted afghans done so we could package 15 layettes with 2 gowns in each (if you are counting, I had 2 gowns already sewn so they totalled 30). I have strips cut off of 8 more Philip Jacobs prints to cut into pieces today. The Bear Paw die is very useful. I used the cuts for this quilt in July 2011.
love thoes bear paws. such happy colors
ReplyDeleteThis is a die I wish I had gotten. It may make more sense than the 8" block dies. The long narrow piece would be handy!
ReplyDeletethere must be a die for just about everything! I'm sure they come in handy.
ReplyDeleteAh, I just looked it up, they don't have that one for the GO! But I have dies that will work for making a block just like it.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Wanda you have been pounding out the projects! Remember the family member I had who had the twin premie girls? They were 4 pounds apiece and those gowns would have fit them! They were so tiny! They are now 2 and 1/3 years old - still on the small size, but full of energy!
ReplyDeleteYour Church sewing circle has such a wonderful gifting program. 15 layettes including the afghans, you ladies are definitely angels for all the darling preemies.
ReplyDeleteI love the precision of your bear paw and stars blocks.

Those bear paw blocks are so cheerful -- love them! I'm usually not drawn to bear paw blocks but with your colour choices, they're irresistible!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize those same cuts made the star block. Pretty neat!
ReplyDeleteThe bear paws are simply gorgeous, the fabric really makes the block! I'm going to get a GO cutter soon, I have so other things to do first. I found a pretty good price on Quilting Warehouse that includes a lot of dies in the starter set - no strips though.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you had to reinstate the "secret" words, I haven't had any problems since removing mine. No spam at all!
I love the bear Paw block and it looks even better in these fabrics.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to do an end of the month photo of your finishes.
I have been busy and have not had time to visit for a few days and of course, lots has been done! It amazes me.
I have seen and held a baby that small. She was a friends twin babies. They were so little they would fit in your hand!
ReplyDeleteFantastic colors!
