Long day, lots of fun and family....

I don't get home made pie very often because  I don't like to make pie crust.  My daughter makes pies as good as my mother's were so it was a treat to have the cherry pie this year.  It was so wonderful to have my whole family together, good conversation, great food, memories shared.  I have so much to be thankful for.

Check out Debbie's colorwash quilt made from the kit I sold plus lots of her own fabrics.  It is gorgeous!

My mum's pastry never inspired me to try making my own! It's about the only thing I don't bake!

Deb's quilt looks fabulous, doesn't it? And her Rudi is soooooo cute!

The pies look (and all the food there) great.

I saw Deb's quilt last night. She did a great job.

I haven't made a pie crust in years, mine do not turn out well, I buy the ones in the frozen section that are rolled up and frozen, thaw them out and unroll it and place in the pan - no one has known the difference.

The secret to pie crust is using lard for the shortening. I really love pie, but if it's not made by moi, I don't bother to even try it. Looks like I would bother at your house. :)

Glad you had such a nice weekend.

Thanks for sharing the link to the finished colorwash . . .

With those wonderful desserts, I think I would have skipped dinner so I had more room to enjoy!

A meal isn't complete without deserts. And it is a tradition in our family to have at least 6 different pies at Thanksgiving every year just because thats it how many Mom always made when she hosted the dinner. We (3) made sure we had our 6 pies to choose from. And my grandson asked did you make any cookies ? I felt so bad that I forgot to make 'his cookies' this year. And when I see your delicious array of pies, desert bread, cookie bars, AND COOKIES I knew I had really 'dropped the ball' (*._,*) this year.

p.s. Debbie's color wash is stunning and I love the way she quilted it.

Her quilt turned out great. I think our Thanksgiving was highlighted by lots of dessert options this year.
