A new project for winter.......

All of these cold frosty mornings have me wanting to make another flannel quilt.  I have the die for my Studio cutter for the 8 point star and I hadn't used it yet.  It makes a 16" block so they are pretty easy to assemble.  I have only made 2 blocks  so far.
Here are some of the fabrics that may make it into the quilt.
This is another black background print that I will use.  There are 3 coordinating prints in the line and I got them all on sale a few years ago.  One is a stripe and I don't know if it will be in the quilt.  I think I only have a half yard of it but I have 5 yards of the one in front and it will be the backing also.
I finished the quilting in the border of the crosses quilt and trimmed it so I have 2 to put bindings on today.  First though I will get my hair cut and go to lunch with sisters-in-law.

Ooh, I love those browns. My large flannel quilt is brown/cream with a touch of rose: very heavy for South AL. But with these chilly mornings, I think flannel is the perfect sewing medium.

I too, love those nice warm brown colors. Your 16" block makes a grand statement. And I can see your selection of additional fabrics will compliment your stars.

I love stars of any kind. The colors don't seem typical for you. I love that black batik though.

I love the colors. How big will you make it? I might want to buy this top from you. I love flannel the soft feel of it.

The yellow background rather than a beige really warms up the block - and are those snowmen on it? :)

Those warm flannels will keep you toasty in the cool days ahead.

Wow...the copper and honey golds really make this combo sing. I have a stack of flannel half yard pieces I bought 15 years ago...still hope to use them, but I should be ashamed of myself for not doing it YET!! Must be the southerner in me...afraid it would be too warm, but I sure lave other people's flannel projects. I should get over it and get on with it!

In stitches,
Teresa :o)

Love those warm colors and the backing is gorgeous! And it pulls all the other colors together nicely. Love anything stars, too.

Those stars look fabulous -- so lovely and warm and cozy in the flannels. That will be a super fall/winter quilt!
