What a relief it was to have a day in the 80s instead of close to or over 100 degrees. The humidity was low and I had the windows open all day. I got a new bird feeder made of cedar and even though the squirrels have figured out they can eat from it, they leave it alone most of the time.
The temperature dropped so much I had to put on a sweater! That's a great tip about checking the value run on the fabrics. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart...love those fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping for a drop in the temps here. It is supposed to be a little lower this week.
ReplyDeleteahh time to play with new fabric - will love to see what you come up with. Cooler temps here too - although it did get up to the 90's yesterday it didn't last long and mostly around 84 :) how sweet it was - had a little rain here in the night, not a lot but some - first since April.

Glad that it has cooled off a bit for you.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great looking fabrics. I can't wait to see what you do with them.
Thanks for taking me home to Australia (for a moment anyway)! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love checking in on your blog. You've inspired me to be a little more productive in the sewing room.
Thanks
Australian fabrics in your Collection was unexpected but I shouldn't really be surprised, should I?
ReplyDeleteIt will be cooler here today too. I love those Australian fabrics. Can't wait to see what you are going to do with them.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the 80's too but it is much mure humid today. I'm hoping for a nice thunderstorm the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteIt will be some time befor I see 80's here in Nevada. Love your fabrics. I have collected about 6 pieces so far.
ReplyDeleteEven 80s seem to hot for me, but after 100s I'm sure it seems cool. :)) We're still in the low 70s, but no fog this morning so I'm heading out for a walk right away!
ReplyDeleteI have a pretty good collection of the AU fabrics too, but not as nice as yours. I love how they use their colors. I'm anxious to see what you decide to do with them.
I've been collecting these as well although very slowly. A few from Quilt Shows, and at Shop Hop - like a souvenir . They do seem like they need just the right project to do them justice. Can't wait to see what you decide.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you've had a break in weather. Hope it stays that way. Oh...and I hope for some rain, too, for our corn and soybeans.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting a lovely cooler day today too.
ReplyDeleteThose Australian fabrics look like fun to play with!
I am so in need of working with color tips. Thanks for this one. I've been collecting Aussie fabric as well, but I'm not paying attention to color. Guess I should start.
ReplyDeleteThose Australian fabrics are beautiful. I have a stack of them and have not decided what to do with them either. Do you think you will make a quilt or more just with the Australian fabrics, or blend them into your stash?
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteA belated congratulations on your 5th Blogging Anniversary!
I have some of the same Australian fabrics; I don't find them just anywhere, so when I see them I grab a few fat quarters.
Do you like that spherical wire bird feeder? I saw one at the farm store and wondered how it worked for the birds.
(I too am glad for the more moderate summer temperatures! We spent the 4th of July mostly outdoors, but it was not enjoyable with the humidity plus heat.)

Great Aussie fabrics! I haven't bought any of those yet, but I really like the graphic nature of them. I'm sure whatever you do with them will be super. And good tip on the flow of colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a giveaway on my blog:

I've just started collecting fabrics from Australia. Have 4 pieces. I look forward to seeing what you make with your lovely collection.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great collection! I have a few but nothing like this. Can't wait to see these in one of your quilts. Lots of movement that is for sure.
