What a relief it was to have a day in the 80s instead of close to or over 100 degrees. The humidity was low and I had the windows open all day. I got a new bird feeder made of cedar and even though the squirrels have figured out they can eat from it, they leave it alone most of the time.
Over the last couple years I have been collecting some Australian fabrics. I had to lay them out in colorwash fashion, couldn't help myself. I could do a Trip Around the World with them.
I always check the run the other way with the dark in the center too to be sure there is a good flow. I just had fun playing with them yesterday, nothing serious in mind yet. I needed to work on some pillowcases for church sewing circle which is today so that is all the sewing I did yesterday.
The temperature dropped so much I had to put on a sweater! That's a great tip about checking the value run on the fabrics. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteahh time to play with new fabric - will love to see what you come up with. Cooler temps here too - although it did get up to the 90's yesterday it didn't last long and mostly around 84 :) how sweet it was - had a little rain here in the night, not a lot but some - first since April.

ReplyDeleteI have a pretty good collection of the AU fabrics too, but not as nice as yours. I love how they use their colors. I'm anxious to see what you decide to do with them.
I've been collecting these as well although very slowly. A few from Quilt Shows, and at Shop Hop - like a souvenir . They do seem like they need just the right project to do them justice. Can't wait to see what you decide.

I have some of the same Australian fabrics; I don't find them just anywhere, so when I see them I grab a few fat quarters.
Do you like that spherical wire bird feeder? I saw one at the farm store and wondered how it worked for the birds.
(I too am glad for the more moderate summer temperatures! We spent the 4th of July mostly outdoors, but it was not enjoyable with the humidity plus heat.)
