Did anyone have a bet on how long it would be before I started a new project? I had to squeeze one in. I pressed a whole stack of orange batiks to get them ready to cut about a week ago. I couldn't wait any longer so I cut 2.5" strips and I'm starting my orange quilt. I want to do a series of one color quilts and did the yellow one a couple years ago. This one will be 16 patches and a few plain squares from one of the larger patterned batiks. I also cut some 1.5" strips so there may be a few mini 16 patches thrown in too. The design will develop as I work on it.
While I'm at it I cut a second strip to cut squares and rectangles for my trays. This is the first group of 16 that I cut. I laid them out like a colorwash and like it so well I might have to sew a couple blocks like this.

I would never win that bet! Looking forward to your new creation.
Oh, how lovely...
Beautiful fabric and possibilities...thanks for taking us along on the trip.
You just can't ever get enough of orange, a fantastic, vibrant color. By the way, I had no doubt a new project would be on its way!
Oh goody! A new project! And it's in orange, my current favourite colour!
This is going to be gorgeous!
I read somewhere that tangerine was the "in" colour!
I never wear orange but I sure use it in quilts! I don't know if I was reading your blog when you made your yellow quilt. Can you repost a picture of it sometime?
I can always depend on you for eye candy in the morning... YUM. Go girl!!!

Morning Wanda,
I started an orange, yellow and purple quilt yesterday, Must be
something in the air. I just wanted to play for once. I finished the backing on my daughters quilt. I used flannel and she loves it. Thanks for selling me the top. They are her colors. Have a great day.
Oooh...can't wait to see what happens with this! :)
This is the second orange quilt I looked at this morning, and just saw another one yesterday. Got my mouth watering. I think I'll go rummage through my stash.
Totally love the oranges I want to make a quilt with them but my wife keeps steering me away going to have to sneak and get some.

Ooh, I'm really looking forward to seeing this develop.
Not at all surprised that you started on a new project! I absolutely love the "oranges" - such a bright and perkey color!
What fun to watch you at work or at play . . .
Your orange quilt is going to be so lovely! Look forward to seeing it progress.
love that orange...
That's what I love about you, Wanda - you're always doing something interesting! The orange is a burst of brightness in winter's drabness.
You are doing a one color batik quilt and I am doing and every color one. I know you will have your's done way before me but I'll keep plugging along. :-)
Isn't starting a new quilt just the best fun? I would never have enough self control to use only one color, but I bet yours is going to be beautiful!
