Official portraits.......

It was a nice sunny day yesterday so I set up a design wall in the living room and had the east light from the picture window lighting my quilts.  This is Crooked Cobblestones 7.  It is 20" x 24".  You can really get a good look at all of the batiks now.
This is Crooked Cobblestones 8.  It is 19.25" x 24".  I sewed on some labels by hand yesterday.  I don't usually label my quilts but for the show in June they need to be all labeled for easier identification if for no other reason.  I will have 38 pieces in the show so I have a lot more printing and hand sewing to do.

  5. These pieces are beautiful! 38 pieces is a lot of work to show and I can't wait to see the pictures of it all hung together.

  7. I didn't get back to check your Monday post and was pleased to see you added information about label fabrics, later in the day. I was thinking printer fabric would work, BUT I am so behind on many of the new fabrics out there, that I thought... Label Fabric must be something new. Thanks again Wanda.

Pretty Cobblestone's completed and ready for your show. I am getting excited for you. I am going to start a photo page of all you plan to take to the show come June, I will have your show to see up close and personal. (*._,*)

  8. I love batiks and these quilts show them off beautifully. I think because the fabric isn't cut up too much and the design is quite simple it lets the fabric speak.

  9. What a difference the lighting made on these. I love searching for the batiks I have in my collection.

I am surprised you do not label your quilts. I assume you so sign and date them though.

  12. Wanda, I'm a "catch-up on the weekend" blog reader of late, so pardon the comments squeezed in about a couple of your postings. I really like cobblestones #8 because of all the "lighted windows." At least, that's what it looks like from here, and that's a really neat effect. Also, I love the two journal covers with photos/scanned leaves. They're very personal - and beautiful, of course! Once again, I wish I had an ink-jet printer, but I don't think I'd use it that often for photos, so it's probably not worth the expense...yet...we'll see. :-)
