I used the equilateral triangle die on my Studio cutter to make wedges for color wheels for my class.
I have 64 of the 100 pieces cut for the kits for Thursday's class. I spent about 2 hours working on the handout sheet also. I will need to cut for a few more hours to get done. I am cutting a 2.5" strip which yields 16 squares. First the fabric has to be spritzed with water and pressed to get the fold marks out so it is a slow process. Luckily I like cutting strips with a rotary cutter.
you will be busy all day with getting your squares cut! I'm sure all will be pleased with their kits.

The color wheel is a great tool and if you know the theory it really makes a colorful quilt as you obviously show us all the time. Chris
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun class.
ReplyDeleteWell begun is half done! And half done is practically there ... and practically there is almost finished!
ReplyDeleteWill you glue the color wheel pieces to a sheet, or will they be used to show the different kinds of combinations -- monochromatic, etc.
I envy your students. You take a lot of time preparing for classes to assure that your students get a great experience.

Your students are so fortunate to have you for their teacher ! All the time consuming work is done with all the cutting you have done for them. Not to speak of the color coordination you have done also.
ReplyDeleteAre they coming to your studio ? Or another shop in town ?

Oh, what fun you'll all have. Wish I were closer, I'd sure be there!
ReplyDeleteYour students are fortunate that you're putting so much effort into their class!! If I lived closer, I'd love to attend your class.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful but cold day outside today. A good day to be ironing and cutting away on your fabric. Good luck with the class.
