2 tops completed......almost....

Target log cabin; winter is finally all sewn together.

Target log cabin; summer might be done but I have one more audition for it.

I think I want to put a 3 strip border around it.  I just grabbed 3 strips that were on my cutting table to try the idea.  I think this one needs a border to finish it because the sashing and blocks look like they are floating on the background (corner squares).  In the winter version the corner squares blend in so it looks finished.

    Both quilts are beautiful, but the summer one is my favorite. I think it deserves to be larger, lol.

    I love your creation of seasonal quilts, just a great way to solve the setting question. Also think the added strips for a border on summer works well. Thanks for all this inspiration.

    I really like the borders on the summer quilt. It does look like it is floating without the borders. This is interesting. Can't wait to see it with borders all around.

    Gorgeous... both are just downright gorgeous! I agree about the three-strip border for the summer quilt.. the strips pull the quilt together somehow...

    Yep, I think it needs a border (and the three piece border is in keeping with the whole quilt theme). Plus, as some else said, it deserves to be a bigger quilt!

    FAbulous. Yes, this second one does need a stop border. I like the idea of strips, plus the binding, it will be a nice finish to this piece.

    You remind me of the old Disney cartoon The Socerer's Apprentice. I can see you (instead of Mickey Mouse) splashing color all over the place! Exuberant? YES!

    I really like both of these, and the borders do improve the summer one.

    Or you could bind it with a light colour so the floating concept is accentuated?
