I finally finished sorting the huge pile of scraps I showed a couple times in the last week or two. The neater piles will take up such a little space compared to the mess all stuffed in a bag. These piles are sorted loosely into colors and/or values and are all full width clean up cuts.
This is the pile of less than full width pieces. This is the third pile of them.
After I iron them, I hang the longest pieces over a couple hangers. The short pieces go into the bins of playtime scraps like the ones I used for the last few things I have made. I don't plan any of the little strip pieced fun pieces; they are just made out of whatever is in the little bin.
I sewed the last of the individual diamonds together on my Kaffe quilt and sewed about 2/3 of the zig zag quilt together last night. Maybe they will be ready for a photo shoot later today.
Fun fun, I am going to work on my scraps again today. Chris
ReplyDeleteWell your scraps are prettier than mine and larger LOL. I just spent some time looking at all the journal quilts I love your #7 it is too cute.
ReplyDeleteHaven't thought of hangers..good idea.
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself to get out the boxes of scraps and organize in some way to use them but I am too busy finishing up other things and working outside at this time of year. One day I will get to them.

Bravo for organization! You should see my stuffed bags and bins. You'd cringe for sure!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy this week. I love seeing how productive you are.
ReplyDeleteYour begonia will be beautiful. My grandmother used to grow them all of the time and they were lovely.
It does look like spring is arriving there - finally!
Whew! What a job! It sure feels good to be organized, though, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I am through with the quilt I am working on I will have to take the box of scraps and sort them also. Today is a house cleaning sort of day. At least I can open the windows today.
ReplyDeleteHow much fun it must be to see those hanging there, just waiting to be used!
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda!
ReplyDeleteEven your scraps are gorgeous!
Sorry your internet is flaky... sometimes I have to reboot the computer, reboot the router, and when nothing helps just walk away and it sorts itself out (not sure why that would help).
Hope you are enjoying the weather. We're getting mid-50's today and a bit of sun.
