A few more triangles....

I will have to be very careful which angle I cut the last groups into so I can place the colors where I want them.  I made a mistake on the last light pink group so all 4 rectangles were cut at the same angle.  That means that there are only 2 positions they can be used in instead of all 4.

Here is what I want to be playing with, the trimmings after I cut the rectangles down to size.  The book has you make the strip piecing way bigger than it needs to be.  Some of these are 1.25" wide, others all the way up to 2.25".  Sewn together I think they will make great journal covers for my notebooks.  They might even be large enough for the zippered tote bags.  I have a finishing class to teach today and tomorrow is the class for this strip pieced diamond quilt.

  3. I'm not good with geometry and always manage to cut something wrong.
It's really pretty. I would have a hard time not to move on to the strips. That's my problem and why I have a hard time to finish things.

  9. Looks beautiful so far! Doesn't it drive you crazy when you cut the wrong way? At least you have plenty of other projects you can use them for. Did you mention what book you are using?
