Limited edition.......

It is that time of the year.   Lindt only makes this  particular variety at the holiday season.  If you look closely it says Limited Edition on the bag.  I kept watching all year thinking they might release it as a regular variety, but no, I had to wait until December.  I have to limit myself to 2 a day because they are the kind you could just keep eating, forgetting how many you have already had.

Yesterday was another one of those days that I can't even tell you what I did all day other than one little shopping trip.  Last night I just wanted busy work so I grabbed a pile of 2.5" strips and Thangles and did some mindless sewing.

  1. In Germany you can buy Lindor truffles that are filled with brandy. Well, not just pure liquid brandy, but brandy that's been mixed with candy. They're to die for...too bad alcoholic candy is illegal to send to the states!

  2. I think we need some sunshine. Very cold this morning. Your gadget says 2*F I am afraid to see what mine says. Hey you were productive even with mindless sewing. I am going in to hit mine hard today. Stay warm Chris

  3. Love the new header on the blog! Mmmm... yummy Lindor truffles. I have never tried that variety. Now I might just have to go and get some. I am sure that you will have something fantastic to make with those new HSTs that you are making.

  5. I love Lindor too much, so I have to stay far away from them! My fave are the ones wrapped in red, I [used to!] put the entire piece in my mouth and let the outer shell get a little soft, then crunch down on it and let the delicious insides drain out. yum!! (Emma, I believe the liquor-filled candies are allowed in the U.S., but they place a disclaimer on the container. I just saw some at Costco Saturday.)

I have three mindless projects - crumb blocks, string blocks, and scrappy flying geese. Sometimes your hands just want to manipulate the fabric!

  6. I don't have any thangles left I used them all up awhile back. The candy looks great I get them once in awhile but not that limited addition I will look for it.

  10. Oooohhhh! Those are such good truffles! They're my favorite flavor from Lindt, too. I might be causing a lot of trouble here ;) but... I will tell you that that flavor does seem to be available year round from their stores. The wrappers are a different color (and they change them seasonally on you), so you have to look closely and read the descriptions, but they are there. Also, I have found that flavor in regular stores under other holiday wrappers- Easter and Halloween spring to mind. If you look closely, you might be able to find them in your area too. Good luck.

(I'll also point out another of my all time fave Lindt treats- previously ONLY found in their stores, to the best of my knowledge- was spotted last week at the local stuffmart. It's called fioretto and if you like caramel.... There are no words for this! So, I'll settle for "BLISS".)

  12. Lindt chocolates haven't made it to my house yet, but after this post, they soon will be.

Mindless sewing is sometimes a cure all for all types of emotion.

    Happy holiday preparations!

  13. You are very good to be able to limit yourself to just two a day!!!

I just love the embroidered blocks on your quilt. The last one with the birds is darling too.

The snow pictures look awfully pretty, but I am sure that it isn't nearly as pretty when you have to get out and function in it.

  14. I haven't seen these truffles before but now I want some.

The bitter cold we are having makes it hard to stay focused, don't you think? If you do anything outside, even walking, it saps your energy. Good days to stay indoors and read or sew.

    Take care!

  15. I wait every year for Halloween when Giant Eagle (a grocery store chain) carries vanilla tootie rolls by the bag. I love vanilla tooties rolls! It is, like the truffles, the only time you can find them unless you pay a fortune on the internet. Yum!!

  16. Lindt chocolates are my favourite too! I love the dark chocolate ones. But they are dangerous for me! I can never eat just one or two! Can't wait to see what your mindless sewing yields.

  17. I'm no good with limiting myself. I need an armed guard that is willing to shoot at point blank range and then I can eat two a day. True!

I love how you have all your rows lined up and ready to sew. Makes me want to run downstairs right now and get to stitching :)

    Smiles,
    Kelly

  18. Maybe they say it is a limited addition because of the wrapping. Also, not every store carries the same varieties of Lindt. Just the most popular in their area,

Mindless sewing is good for a bitter cold day. I have been doing some of that myself.

  19. Hi Wanda,
Well, I'm a dark choc fan myself, so if you every buy any dark choc Lindt balls "by mistake", send 'em my way.
I don't know if you like dark choc at all, but the new-to-me Ghirardelli "Dark & Raspberry" are my current fave. Tastes like a fancy dessert (you know, the chocolate flourless torte set on a plate of raspberry puree..... yum).
Keep warm, and good for you having just 2 per day!
