Done shopping, more snow

I went shopping yesterday morning for the last few things I needed for Christmas.  It was in the 20's and clear.  Then about 2 p.m it started snowing and by 10 p.m I had 3.5" of light fluffy snow on my porch.  Now they say it will turn to rain this morning.  I baked a batch of pink spritz last night.  I don't know why I chose to make the little men.  My kids used to like them but my kids are in their 40's now!
These disgusting little blobs are supposed to be snowmen.  I changed the disc after a few of them and started making the trees.  I would say the dough is a lot more manageable now that I am beating the butter and sugar for about 4 minutes before adding more ingredients.

I had intended to get the border sewn on my denim and flannel Christmas quilt yesterday, but it didn't happen.  Hopefully I will get the border on and get it quilted today.

  1. Boy, you are really getting the snow this year! We were supposed to have a Nor'easter yesterday, but all was clear and bright. I am sure you will get to the sewing today!

  3. Those little men are so cute, everybody's a kid at Christmas! Your snowmen went out for a walk while you weren't looking? Check for wee footprints in the snow, LOL

  6. I don't think that I've ever had spritz before - they look yummy! No snow here, just lots and lots of rain - which is a good thing!!

  7. I had a lot of trouble with my spritz cookies the last time I made them. I will try your suggestion of beating the butter and sugar mixture longer. Maybe that will help. I haven't been online for awhile. But I love your journal covers and the orange Christmas cactus bloom is magnificent!

  8. I hope you don't get this storm(s) that we have had. The snow will be higher than your house.

I knew those blobs were snowmen!! I am making some of the spritz cookies with grandchildren today.

  11. I love the spritz cookies, which is one really good reason I did not make any this year. I already made too many other kinds, and strangely enough - I like them all, too! Oh, my.

  13. They keep telling us we'll get snow but we don't. I'm not complaining!
Your cookies are making me think if I'm going to do any baking this year, I'd better get started!

  14. I didn't do spritz cookies this year. I will try your suggestion next time I do because sometimes they can be challenging. We are having a very mild winter. Very dry. Grass fires are becoming prevalent.
