I don't enter a lot of giveaways, but now and then the prize is something I would like. This was the case in Holly's giveaway.
If you go to this post on her blog she talks a little about how she made them. They are really pretty and I'm glad I won them.
Holly also does thread sketching which is something I like to do. She shows several pieces on her blog, one of an old truck that I thought was really neat.
She also included some notecards with prints of her paintings on them and a gift tag.
Thanks Holly, I really like my winnings!
Holly lives in Canada and has wonderful nature photos too.
I spent the last 2 evenings sewing the blocks together on the triangle quilt. I probably could have distributed the colors a little more evenly, but I decided I was done playing with the layout. I needed the 2 design walls that the blocks were on upstairs so I can take some daylight photos of some more quilts. I never got a good photo of "Chocolate and Caramel" and it is going to be mailed away today so it is photo day at my house.
The triangle quilt looks great! That red/gold batik in Holly's blocks might make a great border for it!
ReplyDeletelucky you for winning such beautiful blocks!
ReplyDeleteAnd your triangle quilt is gorgeous! I love to play with the layout too, but at some point you really have to just stop and sew it together. The possibilities are endless and if I had to wait until I was done playing, I would never finish anything ever :)
Congrats Wanda.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks from Holly! Your quilt top looks fantastic and I think the distribution of color is great. Now to get it quilted and bound, it is sure to be another stunner!
ReplyDeleteYour triangle quilt turned out great. I love it. Holly's blocks are so pretty. Don't you just love beautiful handmade notecards? I usually can't bring myself to use those kind of cards but end up saving them as works of art.

Congrats on the win! Those are great blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love the new quilt. You've inspired me to pull some batiks but I can't
start anything until I finish my challenge quilt.
Seen from a distance (as we readers see it) the triangles quilt appears to more about value and tint/shade than colour. And in that respect I think it dances!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great win -- those blocks are so pretty and her cards are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour triangle quilt glows -- it's a very cheerful, happy quilt.
I agree "What a great WIN" ! I am going to her blog soon as I sign off.
