My art quilter's group, the best therapy I could have. We had so much fun.
While I watched Castle last night I started designing the yellow quilt on a double design wall. After I had about a third of it up on the wall, I realized I had the layout sheet upside down, LOL.
This is a layout from one of Kaffe's books. It is also a free download on the internet here. I need better light at the bottom of the quilt. Maybe I need to take the pictures during the daytime instead of at 10:30 at night.
I have to work today, so no sewing until evening.
Isn't it terrible how work gets in the way of creativity! You're colors are looking great...as usual!
ReplyDeleteYay! I am so glad that you started on it because it just looks fantastic!! The yellow is just so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! Thanks for the link. I love anything Kaffe and this is going to be amazing. Hope work doesn't get in the way too much.
ReplyDeleteYou did all that during the hour for Castle!!
ReplyDeleteAs much Kaffe fabric as I have, I have very few yellows, even tho it's one of my favorite colors. I have determined that I will NOT buy any more Kaffes until I use some more. But oooooh, those yellows. Yummm.
ReplyDeleteLovin' the yellows!!
ReplyDeleteHappy yellow that glows like sunshine.

Upside down is okay. I heard a story yesterday of a woman who makes traditional quilts and never buys backing fabric, just makes it from leftover scraps. She had a show/sale in another city and got a call that her quilts were selling fast, and they wanted more to fill in the gaps in the show. Her and hubby drove to the other city with more quilts, only to discover that they had all been hung backwards! I'm still laughing!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love the sunshine on your design wall!! What a great quilt to be working on at this time of year!
ReplyDeleteSee I just knew you would be making something fantastic with those squares!!
ReplyDeleteMy first visit to your beautiful Blog. I'm gald I'm not the only one that turns patterns upside down. With the Kaffe fabrics they are pretty from any side, don't you agree?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your cookies look delicious.
You're living up to your name!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. I love this quilt--although yellow and pink used to be colors I didn't like.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is going to be absolutely beautiful! Have you decided how to quilt it?
