Diamonds rearranged

I left the picture full sized instead of trimming it so you can judge the size.  This is 2 - 48" design walls so the space is 96" wide and 84" tall.  I was trying for a sunrise or sunset with sky and ground, but there isn't enough variation of colors and the 2 light blues are totally out of place.  I can see working with this after cutting about 50 more fabrics to put into it.  I think I'll finish the triangle blocks while I think about this.

A friend and I went on a house walk yesterday.  It was raining while we visited the first 3 houses but after we stopped at the clubhouse it stopped raining for the last 2.  It was fun to see how other people decorate their houses but I didn't get any ideas to use in my own house.

Last night I talked to my childhood friend who has cancer.  She told me about her trip to a Chicago hospital to have her stem cells harvested in case they need them later to treat her cancer.  It was quite an ordeal but she is a strong amazing woman.

Modern medicine is wonderful for those that can afford the care. Hopefully they can help her. The diamonds are good looking even as they are. Chris

I like this arrangement. I see what you mean by more variation but it is very pretty like this.

Your friend's ordeal keeps things in perspective. Sending her strength.

This layout is lovely!! Love the idea of the sky, sunset and the ground. Looking good! Only good thoughts and prayers for your friend.

It looks beautiful, but I agree that the two light blues are out of place, lol. Maybe with some more, you could place them around the colored "sunrise" area.

modern medicine is wonderful - I just wish they could come up with even more wonderful cures.
Good thoughts are heading her way from me.

HI Wanda,
I like the direction you're going with the triangles. Looks landscape-ish already.

You have to admire people who take their health challenges in stride; it makes me reassess my own relatively small problems as not so big a deal.

Wanda, you continue to amaze and inspire me! I liked the diamonds the way you had them at first, but this is even better, and after you brew it some more with your wide variety of fabrics and values - it will be a stunner!

I'm sorry about your friend having to go through all that. It's always hard to see someone you love suffer.

Your friend sounds like a very strong woman. I hope she comes through her treatments well.

If anyone can get those colors perfect it will be you. You are on your way to another great quilt.

I hope your friend will be okay and I'm sure she finds comfort in your lifelong friendship.

I love seeing the process you go through to achieve a quilt.
Amasing what they can do with stem cells these days. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for your friend.

I love watching your thought process. You are absolutely amazing! You know that already, right?

This is definitely my favourite concept so far. Despite the variation in so many earlier works of yours, these diamonds seem to demand some order.

That is a great arrangement, Wanda. You really do have an eye for the color.

Prayers for your friend. What an ordeal she must be going through.

Oh Wanda, my heart goes out to you friend. It's interesting that you're working on this piece right now. To me, thinking about your friend, this piece speaks of the inner flame and how it reaches out. Very powerful feeling I get seeing this and reaching about her. (plus the whole her stem cells harvest is pulling from the center of her being, her inner most self). Very strong and powerful and impacting all of us in the reaching out.

These are fun. You are on my mind today and all week, because my DH is in IL on business... and I could not go with him and visit you. Boo hoo.

Your quilt design is looking beautiful but I agree with the two light blue pieces - they need to go. Prayers to your friend with cancer.

Your previous arrangements of the diamonds didn't make me stop and take notice, but this one certainly did! Love the glow of the sunrise/sunset!

I like this arrangement, the light blues look like the glow from the center is reflecting on them.

I love this arrangement. I didn't really see the sunrise / ground / sky, but I did like the brightness in the center. Can't wait to see what you do with this one.

Ooh, I love this arrangement of diamonds. I didn't notice the light blue ones until you mentioned them. Very nice.
