Two more blocks is all I need for a 42" x 48" quilt. That is a good size for class samples. The classrooms simply aren't big enough to open up bed size quilts and have the students stand back far enough to see the whole quilt. I have made this all out of my scrapbag of Kaffe fabrics.
Yesterday was our last nice day for awhile. Humidity and rain are predicted for several days in a row. I lucked out with the grass though. Without rain all week it didn't grow so I won't have to mow until at least the middle of next week. I baked cookies since it would be the last day without the air conditioning.
Today is my 3rd Blogiversary. On the 4th of July, 2007 I ventured into the world of blogging and it has enriched my life. I always kept diaries as a child, and now this is a diary of sorts that I have been writing with a bunch of people reading over my shoulder. I have enjoyed the interaction with a lot of the commenters as we email back and forth and discuss our quiltmaking and life in general. Thank you, all of you, for reading my blog.
Congrates on your third Blogiverary. I started one year on the 4th too.I am really enjoying blogging and chatting to friends all over the world.
ReplyDeleteWish I had a stash of scraps like that. Top looks great.
Dear Wanda!
ReplyDeleteI´m one of those people who´s "reading over your sholder" and I´m so enjoying it!
I´m a bloger from Sweden and I also love the fabrics of Kaffe Fasset, though I haven´t shown so much of my "Kaffequilts" in my own blog. Thank´s for leeting us "take a sneek peek" of your life, quilts and garden!
And "congrates" to your Blogversary!
Love from Maja
Wonderful job on the quilt. So glad you are able to be on the blogs for so long. I think somedays what am I going to say. Well I have a lot to say, but the rest of you don't want to hear it. Congrats. Keep us wanting to come back to read more with you. Chris
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda, Congratulations on the blogiversary. Blogging has made a big difference in my life too. Not that this would work for everyone, but I gave up antidepressants and started writing (well, sewing and taking pictures mostly), and I have never looked back and never wrote another check to a head doctor. I am convinced once a woman becomes too distanced from creating, she loses her true self and that causes great distress. Karmen
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Wanda - I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy logging on each day and peeking into your world :) You're so right these blogs chronicle a part of our lives that we are passionate about and that express our creativity and convey our thoughts about our projects as we go about completing them. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd Blogiversary and Happy Independence day also!
