The garage sale ended at 3 yesterday; we loaded her car with the leftovers for Goodwill and I put all of the tables away. My van is in the garage!!!
The milkweed is starting to bloom so I got some close-up pictures. There were honey bees on it too.
I don't remember it having this kind of a bloom last year. There was a butterfly on the butterfly weed too. There weren't very many butterflies last year so I'm hoping I'll see lots of them this year.
I took this picture from my kitchen window last night. I don't know what kind of butterfly that is.
I love milkweed. I usually do not see many of them around here. Nice to have the garage back I'm sure - a garage sale is nice to get rid of things and have some extra spending money but they sure are hard work! Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
We had tons of butterflies two years ago also. This year several are around the Butterfly Bush and the Cone flowers. The heat is suppose to be bad today. Stay inside and sew. I am taking Mom to the quilt shop with all the baby cribs. Chris
Oh the photos were lovely, I do think that with the warm weathers we are having, your weather is very similar to ours in Ontario, that we are all ahead of the blossoming of so many plants. I'm sure that many birds are flying around and thinking "what the h?" because at the cottage, the dianthus is blooming with the collumbines which never happens there. Now, remember the garage is for the car after all that money that went into your pocket!
How wonderful to have your garage back! We've an 8-car garage (nope, not a luxury deluxe garage...more a good-old-boy space!) and it is filled to the max with a lifetime of "stuff". Wish it would all go away! Wonderful photos! Isn't there a website that turns photos into squares...for a quilt? These would be wonderful in fabric!
I really am a huge admirer of your quilts, but i find your garden fascinating too. Have you shown any overall pictures of it? I'd just love to see how it all works and looks together -- it just seems great.
Just the other day I saw a butterfly exactly like the one you have on my bell flowers. Before I could get a closer look it flew away. From my garden to yours ????
This beauty is called Admiral
