I just noticed last night that Sunday was the 1200th post in almost 3 years (July 4 blogiversary). Another milestone.
I got up with a migraine yesterday so after going to church and making an appearance at a party I crashed and slept. Then it was on to Dad's at night with a meal that we picked up at a local restauant.
I didn't get any sewing done but I took pictures of the 2 Nancy Crow fabrics I have used already and some other favorite prints that I found. It is pretty exciting that several of you mentioned you have these fabrics too. That means you have been quilting/collecting for awhile too.
This is a large print I have had for close to 20 years. It is a favorite but too large of a print for the current project. I may have to do a strippy quilt with some of the strips quite large to show off the prints.
I bought this print in the late 1970's and I have it in blue and green also. It's another of those 'too precious to use' fabrics.
The next block will have this print in it. It is a pima cotton from Robert Kaufman fabrics in the early/mid 1990's. Because it is a pima cotton it is silky and the print is very vivid.
I hope you enjoyed the trip through some of my older stash.
Congratulations on all those posts filled with creative words of wisdom and Wandaful pics
ReplyDeleteWOW...congratulations on 1200 posts...that is a HUGE accomplishment. While I have been sewing for years (over 40), my early years were mostly clothes...quilting didn't happen until nearly 5 years ago. SO......the prints you are showing are not familiar to me, but they are really nice!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the posting. I feel good if I get a couple a week done. With the weather we have had I can understand the migraine. Hope you are better today. Chris
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. Congrats on 1200 times to encourage those in blogland.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Wanda. I love to read your posts and see all your Wandaful Quilts and fabric.
ReplyDeleteHope you headache has gone.
Wow, that is a ton of posts! Congratulations on yet another milestone. Loved the trip down memory lane with your fabrics. It is always nice to remember what fabrics we purchased and how are tastes and style have evolved over the years.
ReplyDelete1200 posts, 400,000 visitors - wow! I find it amazing that you can remember the year those fabrics were printed. I esp. like the last one - the Kauffman.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your upcoming 3 year anniv. I love older fabric, following the changes in fabric trends. Just compare Kauffman then and now.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to put the older Kauffman it into a quilt with a new Kauffman.
love some of those fabrics - that is a lot of blog posts, I will have to check and see how many I have - no where near that.

1200 posts - congrats! You continue to be my go-to inspiration. The 'vintage' Crow is gorgeous - I wish that I had collected it when it appeared on the scene, but I was not "into" the larger graphics back then, boo-hoo!!! Remember the marimekko fabrics? Didn't care for them either! Carry on with your pure excellence!
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are unbelievable! I thought at first that you were getting creative with a photo of leaves. 1200 posts! Congratulations. I'm having a giveaway because I just got to 100, lol.
ReplyDeleteAnother great post Wanda. I am amazed by 1200 posts in 3 years. I am just having my 1-year, 100th post giveaway.
ReplyDelete1200???? That is AWESOME!!! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your stash. That last pima by Kaufman is really pretty. The colors are great!
I have only been quilting for 7 years so my stash is only that old. What wonderful fabric from Nancy Crow. Thanks for sharing. I'm not a traditional block person but seeing yours is making want to reconsider.

I am so relieved to hear that other people have material stashed away that is "too pretty to use!" I was always a little embaressed about doing that!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, love your blog!
Congratulations on all those milestones! I love leaf fabric! And I too have some that I hate to cut into. Thanks for that delicious tour through your older stash!
ReplyDeleteWow -- 1,200 posts is a huge milestone. congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are stunning. The third one practically leaps off the computer screen. It is amazingly vivid.
Yes indeed! I love wandering through your stash. Now, if I could just pet some of those fabrics I'd really be happy.
ReplyDeleteHello Wanda, Love the different prints, especially the leaf prints. I like the way you have used them in the blocks below too! Very clever! They look so 3D they make me want to touch them!! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love the stash favorites, especially as they concern nature themes, my favorites.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations of the blogiversary (a very good choice of word)! May you continue long into the future. :-)
I love to see all your fabrics. They are so colorful.
ReplyDeletethanks for showing yopur 'old' fabrics. Some people advocate getting rid of old fabric in favour of current designs, but I'm with you - use it all up!
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful fabrics! I love the leaves and large floral print. You have been collecting quite a long time!
