It was fun to relax and be with other creative people yesterday. I picked 2 bouquets of peonies on Sat. night so they would be 'ant free' by yesterday so the flowers could be in the house.
I had one bouquet in the living room and one in the kitchen. The house smelled like cookies and peonies! I'm glad you all enjoyed the pictures of the cookies yesterday.
Even the white peonies are beautiful. The are delicate and fluffy.
my favorite flowers ever... When they sold my grandmothers house, I had ALL her peonies dug up out of her huge garden and had them sent to me, and now they are in MY garden.... Happy Happy memories...
I used to live where we had peonies but never realized if I cut them EARLY (a day or so before I wanted them inside), I could leave them sit and the ants would leave. So...I never got to have them inside...wish I knew about this then. Yours are beautiful.
I just love the peonies - I had only one bouquet of them before we had a storm that knocked them to shreds and that was a month ago. Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
What a treat to see the variety of peonies, and to have them bloom by Memorial Day. They truly are beautiful. I am sure your Cookies and Peonies stirred everyones creativity.
oh Wanda - peonies are at the top of my flower list - elbowing out the passion vine (until it makes an appearance!) Yours are lovely. I put in a new border two years ago and it's just beginning to look like mamie's house in the country! HEY! Go see my blog - you might find something there to make you smile!!!!
The peonies are beautiful. We have a retired co-worker that brings hers to the library for us to enjoy. When I stop to smell them they remind me of my mother who has long since passed away. Your photos are perfect! Thanks for brightening my day! Happy quilting!
..AAARRGGHHH!! I am sooo jealous of your Peonies!!! They are beautiful!! Mine have NEVER bloomed!! I'm so sad again this year they did not bloom and I soooo want to see them for they are from my grandmothers flower garden.
