We have just had 2 days in the 80's which is unbelievable this early in the spring. I worked outside picking up branches for the free brush pick up next Monday. It was too windy to rake any leaves.
The only sewing I did was to get these blocks assembled into a baby quilt top. I'm going to put a border on it too.
They are printed on a high quality fabric with a fairly tight weave.
Birds and butterflies seem to be some of their favorite motifs.Today I said good-bye to the zig zag Kaffe charm quilt top. One of my readers purchased it and I mailed it to her today. It was a great journey making that top and now I'm ready to start on another.
What amazing fabrics! I would never be able to cut into them. Maybe they should just be framed and enjoyed as they are.

Beautiful fabrics. Are they really Dutch - as in 'made in Holland'? Or do they come from (formerly Dutch owned) Indonesia? I'm just curious because I have never seen this type of fabric before. The Bento Box baby top is lovely too! And congratulations on the sale of your zigzag.

And I thought Friday's Dutch Wax fabrics were grand. Even more today ! They are truly works of art. Your stash is more than just a stash. I can't think of a good name yet but I will. Just when I think we have seen it all you surprise us.

is what comes closest to what you collected earlier. But it doesn't reach the beauty of the earlier patterns. They are trying hard to be modern!
From the above shown sample, clippings could be made which would make a nice quilt or parts of it. If I had a quilting group near, I'd order the lot and share it with five more quilters.
I'm sure you'll find a perfect way to showcase your Dutch Wax beauties. They're just mouth watering!

ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are amazing. I would be tempted to use them in very large blocks so as to not lose much of the design. That very last fabric is just incredible! I kept staring at it and staring at it. Gorgeous!
