Vacuuming, cutting..........

This won't be the final layout for the individual pieces because I'm not done cutting yet.  I'm cutting the fabrics in order (from 01 to 110 or so) and I'm only at about #40.  I'm using the card file I started a few months ago and adding swatches as I cut.  These are all Kaffe Fassett fabrics, if you haven't been following along on this adventure.  I think this is as wide as it will be (about 56") and this time I will really stop at 12 rows unlike the last one.  I'm planning on this one being a charm quilt in which each fabric is only used once.

The Christmas cactus has 3 flowers now and 2 more buds about to open.  I think it is forming a couple more buds too.  This is so exciting to have it bloom again so soon.

  1. It's fun to watch this charm quilt develop. My Christmas cactus (which seems to be the same color as yours) is also blooming again!

  2. Thank you Wanda for yesterdays post on sorting lights and darks. Very helpful.

The cactus flowers are always so pretty and seem to flower forever. Can't wait until my flower in the winter again.

  3. This is going to be a wonderful charm quilt! So your Kaffe collection is definitely pretty extensive. That is fantastic! The pink flowers on the Christmas cactus are my favorite ones.

  4. I love charm quilts even if it is sometimes difficult to make sure you don't use one more than once.

The cactus looks so healthy. I love when the new little leaves appear.

  8. I'm constantly learning. I didn't know that "Charm" meant only using each fabric once. I also learned that "klosjes" is the English name for little spools. Have fun laying out.

  12. I always thought a vacuum was something to hang "stuff" on! You mean there's other uses for that thing sitting in the corner?

  13. This is very pretty. The colorizing of the zigzags looks nice! Will you continue that throughout?

  14. I see a connection, in some very distant way, between the blooming Christmas cactus and the triangles. It's awesome!
