The other one using the same pieces will be rings of dark and light. It has to be designed first and then 2 triangles sewn together too. I will have at least a week of cutting to be ready to design these. I am cutting the squares 6.5" and then in half diagonally so they will finish around 5.5" I wanted them fairly big to show off the Kaffe prints.
I didn't make anything new with hearts this year for February/Valentine's Day. If you want to see my previous heart quilts, click here for all of the posts.

The look of a dark and light quilt is always mesmerizing to me. What you currently have up on the wall looks fantastic!! Looking forward to seeing it grow.
Wanda! Kaffe and Batiks, Darks and Lights - oh my. Designing as you go. Striking.
What a fabulous idea. And so dramatic, which I love. Thanks for always inspiring and teaching me.
Love what you are starting with here and wondering what it will be when you finish!

This looks like a wonderful beginniing. Can't wait to see it grow. Keep that design wall shining!
Your quilts are beautiful, as always! I especially like the rings of color. You're so productive that you inspire me to try to keep up with you!
Kaffe and batiks.... my idea of a multiple orgasm!
Hi,
I like the dark and light, but it takes me so long to choose fabric I would never start the quilt. It's looking good.

I too like Holly's description of yesterday's layout. "Energy" and as always exuberant color !
A week of cutting the new triangles certainly tells us about your personal energy. (as if we didn't know that already) I can see how your fabrics pull you into a frenzy of cutting and designing.

What fun to watch your work in progress . . .
I'm hearing Carly Simon's Anticipation (is anyone else?)
Thanks for the link to your heart quilts. Today is my birthday, so I'm partial to all things Valentine. :)

You do such beautiful work. I have given you an award on my blog. Karmen
Hi Wanda,
I love the zig zag quilt setting on your last post. Very energetic, indeed! The optical illusion is fun (herringbone effect).
If it were my quilt, I'd bind it in the medium-dark periwinkle with black dots that shows up in some of the blocks (although if all you have is scraps of it, that won't work).
Keep warm.

These will be gorgeous, will be watching! Some people hate cutting, but I like it.
Wanda... What is the pattern for the Kaffe Fabric??? I want to make one now that I've seen this!! Just love the look of it!!! Can't wait to see it finished. Thanks!
I hope you are okay. I opened your blog this morning and did not find a posting.
