Starting a few H quilts
I had fun with the art quilters yesterday. After they left I decided to work on a pile of H blocks that I had cut on Sunday. I have more than one quilt started here. Since my last name starts with H I have a lot of H relatives that I can make a quilt for. I am going to make blocks now and then with different types of prints and store them all in a box until it is so full it will be time to sort through and make a couple quilts. I have several here that are flowery/pastel and some brights so there is the beginning of 2 quilts anyway. Maybe a third quilt with that brown swirl/spot combination. After my hair cut this morning I should be able to just stay home and did into a project.
Terrific idea! An H quilt for people in your family. You definitely have a great headstart.
ReplyDeleteI did wonder why you choose " H " and now I know. What a great idea to make quilts for the family. Would it be easy to do "W".
ReplyDeleteLove the brown combo.
Pretty piles! these will make some pretty quilts.
ReplyDeleteneat idea, I too had wondered why H or if that was just what someone had happened to design and called it that.

I loved your last "H" quilt so I know these will be awesome too.
ReplyDeleteI loved your last 'H' quilt, done in those wandaful colours. I thought of making one, but wondered if mine would look as good since I do not own such a colourful stash. But now I see that this quilt will look amazing in any colour. So I may have to try making one afterall.... After I finish some UFOs!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll add some of your H's to my S's and that will shhh my family from clamouring for more quilts ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey look great, Wanda.
I always enjoy seeing your fabric color combinations. Each one is a design of it's own. Another wonderful stash in the making.

I like the H blocks. My son-in-law's last name starts wit H, as does my granddaughter's. He's got a big birthday coming up next year, and my granddaughter has really outgrown the fairy tale quilt I made for her several years ago. With the right fabrics, this pattern could work for either.
ReplyDeleteIf I don't quit looking at your blog I'm going to have to start making H's. I love this block!
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't have any need for Hs, but I love seeing your color combos.
You'll have ingredients for a quilt or 2 or 3 before you know it. Maybe the H box will multiply on its own!

Glad you had a fun meeting with the art group. It always amazes me that they come from so far in the winter weather to gather.
ReplyDeleteHow do you do your H blocks? Do you have a stash of cut pieces, or do you cut them all when you sew them?
Now this is very interesting.....The letter "H"...I can't wait to see how it goes together....I love the fabrics you're chosen...COOL!
ReplyDeleteTalk about personalized quilts!! What a super gift for family members.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun.
