It was actually above 0 when I checked the temperature at 8 a.m. yesterday. We are heading into a warm spell, the low 20's. Jack Frost visited my west kitchen windows and left me a little forest of ferns with a grass line and roots below.I don't know if it was the high barometric pressure or what but I had a nagging headache all day yesterday, nothing severe, just nagging. I did manage to get a lot of ditch quilting in the piece below and now I have to decide whether I want straight lines in the borders or some free motion quilting.
I think I'll do the ditch quilting on the plaid NY beauty while I contemplate that.
Something like migraene happens to me when the pressure is so high, together with clear sky and dry cold. All the people say, what a lovely weather, the sun comes out... and I mumble, please let the sun go down...
Beautiful pic...just wait, though, the cold weather is probably heading for you. We are -15 this AM, temp, not wind chill, with snow coming tonight....
Lovely quilt on the machine there. I can also remember your last year's frost photos and do love seeing them. I am just glad they aren't able to be taken HERE. LOL
I used to love visits from Jack Frost--until I had to pay a heating bill. Nagging headaches have been a problem for me and a couple of others over the past week. It must be something atmospheric.
love the Jack Frost photos, I spent my first 27 years in the northern states and enjoyed it all the time in the winter - here in the south it is rare to have that on our windows - maybe this week with it being so cold? we woke up to 12 this morning (I do get some ice on the windshield) Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
It was 14 here this morning - that's COLD for Memphis. And the "s" word was mentioned several times in the morning paper (meaning there will be a mass convergence on the area grocery stores today). Sigh ... some of us who grew up in Michigan know to keep food in the pantry at all times.

What a pretty picture! We don't see that type of scenery here in AZ, which is fine with me LOL. Been there, done that having spent 20 years in North Dakota.
I had a bad headache day yesterday too. Never could knock it completely out and woke up with a dull headache again today.
your quilt is simply beautiful. Do you use patterns or simple create them yourself? You have such an incredible eye for color; I wish I could have you for a teacher!
That is such a fabulous picture of the frost! Guess that's one good thing about winter -- it gives some unique photo opportunities. I always think the real cold weather brings on more headaches.
What a lovely frost painting you had to enjoy....if I had been there I would have had my magnifying glass out and having a closer look! I would have been looking there and then over looking at your gorgeous quilt!!!

Beautiful frosty pic. Thanks for helping to cool me down a bit, we're in mid summer and it was 46 deg Cel on Sunday.....thats over 110F

Frost patterns on the windows are amazing. If only we could replicate that in fabric!

I like Joyce's idea of replicating that frost pattern on fabric. It would make an outstanding border!
