I knew today would be a binding day today. For some reason this batik has always been one of my favorites. It is from at least 12 years ago and I think longer than that. I had originally thought that I was going to bind this quilt with strips from a lot of different batiks, but when I started looking I found this one and knew it was going to work with both the front and the back.

That batik was also my favorite! I think have a few small scraps left. I was very frugal in using it - it was one of those pieces that was too pretty to use. It did make beautiful binding!
What a great choice for binding!
It is a gorgeous choice! I need to declare a binding week, and do some of mine.
This fabric is just a fabulous choice for binding. Not to mention that I just love the fabric on its own.
Yes, that fabric definitely looks perfect for both the front and the back. I don't particularly like making binding (the sewing the strips together part - not sure why), but I LOVE the hand sewing part. I'm binding my class wallhanging right now and am almost done.
Very pretty...and I'm happy to see you try to get a binding that matches the front AND the back. Lots of quilters I know think I am nuts to try to match both sides as they say the back won't be seen anyway. I STILL like the binding to match both side...regardless of what they say!!! LOL
What a gorgeous fabric, looks great as the binding
the batik is wonderful, but i cannot tear my eyes away from your backing!!!! LOVE that! Is that a new fabric line, or older?
I am crazy for that backing as well.
Beautiful fabric! Great match! I love your back fabric. It's very soft and pretty!
I love your batiks, but the one time I used some on a quilt back, I thought it was terribly difficult to hand-sew through just that single layer of batik. Do you find them harder to get your needle through? Or was I just unlucky in the piece I used?
I can see why it is one of your favorite batik pieces. The ferns are a bonus with those wonderful colors.
Another great post today... I am so happy you a blog, it always makes my day.

Well heck yee-ow it works...that is great fabric...are you stingy
with it?
Do you have 'workers' today....I was thinking of your earlier this morning wondring if all was going well??
That is a great fabric for binding your quilt. It matches and blends with all the colors.
And you got to use it up!! Congrats :o) And it looks good too. Love your blog Amie
Hi Wanda,
Wow, isn't it amazing how a batik can pick up so many colors in a quilt and look "perfect"? I think I like it better as a binding than if you used bigger hunks in a quilt.

You are right on, once again! Perfect binding for such an amazing quilt! OK...THIS one is now my favorite!
The batik is a great choice for the binding, it really works well with the other colours you have in the quilt.
I love that batik.
