I did a mock up with pieces on the flannel wall to try the block from yesterday's post. I have the rectangles in the outside row like my drawing in this version. On this one I put both light and dark in the outside row and did mirror image corners. I think both of these versions might be interesting. I haven't gotten the trays of cut pieces out yet. I just worked with one small group that was not put away yet.
Once again you are truly inspirational!! The lovely flower and awesome color of it!! ;) I feel like I could reach out and touch it!! Love the mock up too. Have a wonderful Christmas. Gail
ReplyDeleteI especially like the second block arrangement!
ReplyDeleteThe cactus blossom is beautiful. I'm watching my Amaryllis lily. No sign of a bud. Is it snowing there? We have 6 inches on the ground in Fairmont WV and it's still coming down.
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas cactus is beautiful! I don't think I have ever seen an orange one.
ReplyDeleteI think the mock ups look great. (love purple and that shade of green together)

You have a vision and then you make it a reality - wow - I'm going to have to take lessons. My visions stay in my head until I forget half of what i was thinking! Can't wait to see the layout with more with the secondary patterns showing. My Christmas cactus has ants...any tips on that?
ReplyDeleteLovely cacti, now you have a pinkish one and an orange so you need a white. As you said you had room for three. My white one has pink edges and looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove those rectangle pieces, with the added punches of the smaller squares, this is going to be another fun piece. As always you will decide on the best design.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh ~ you surely captured the beauty of your Christmas catus. The light on that blossom is awesome.

That orange Christmas cactus is a winner! I am going to try and find one for myself. Nice blocks too.
ReplyDeleteLove the apricot cactus flower. GORGEOUS! Mine is screaming pink and full of blooms. My mother gave it to me years ago and we always say she's here for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures of the flower are beautifl. How about a quilt from that?
ReplyDeleteYour quilt layout looks beautiful. I have to say, the colors remind me of a Claude Monet lily pond painting. It is sure to be a wonderful quilt.
