I went through the bag and pulled one strip of each of a bunch more to add into the mix on the dark side of the log cabins.
I mailed my daughter's quilt off to her for her birthday. I sent it by Express Mail so she should get it before noon today. It feels good to be early for a birthday for a change.
I love all those strips, just wonderful. Love the mix of the new ones and old ones. Just great! Can''t wait to see them in the quilt!

ReplyDeleteHi, I love your blog/quilts, fantastic. I have been wanting to ask you if I just make long strip sets, cut them to say...6.5". Then, cut them on the diagnal from upper left to lower right and THEN upper right to lower left? I HAVE to make one! I just love the way you use your scraps. Thankyou for any help you have and for keeping this great blog. Amie, Nashville

ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteI just know that quilt is going to be a knockout, both close-up and from afar. It's amazing how you can mix and match Kaffe fabrics and they magically go together.

ReplyDeleteThis quilt is going to look amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's quilt is amazing ~ I can see why you are so happy with the way it turned out! And I don't mind all the words in that post, I enjoyed reading it enormously.
ReplyDeleteNow, this new log cabin project - WOW ... I totally understand why you commented each block seemed "ugly" to you until you started putting the blocks together ... I think that has been much of my 'hang up' issue with KF fabrics ... I get stuck before I get far enough and, never having completed a full KF quilt top, I lose faith in my judgment.
Your skills are AMAZING!
