Finished crosshatch quilting

This was pretty much an experiment to see if I would like this kind of quilting on top of crazy piecing. I really didn't like this table runner very much so I figured if I didn't like the quilting it would be no loss. Click on the picture for a closer view. All of that brassy gold color thread kind of subdues the border fabric. And here is the close up picture. I won't make any final judgement on it until after I have washed it and dried it in the dryer.
Today is cookie baking day and final clean up in the basement. I mixed the peanut butter cookies last night since the dough is supposed to chill anyway.

It looks beautiful! Will you show a picture after you wash it up, I will be curious of the outcome as well. Have fun baking cookies.

My gosh, Wanda. That crosshatch work is simply amazing!!! I don't know what else to say except I'm a cookie monster and wish I were your neighbor.

You mentioned yesterday about not being perfect. It sure looks perfect to me. I can just imagine a piece I would do, trying to keep an my stitch lines even. It would REALLY be classified as WONKY!

Hi Wanda,
Wow, that's a lot of thread!
It's looking very artsy and fall-like. I don't see how washing could improve it.

I absolutely love it, the colours, the design and the cross hatching.. I think it finishes it off beautifully and if you think it doesn't work then I'll gladly look after it for you haha.

Your blog is beautiful.

This is a lot heavier quilting than you normally do on your pieces. I loved the wonky lines by themselves, but the cross hatching came out great and compliments the runner even better. Beautiful.

Have fun baking! I have Christmas baking to do in the near future. It's always like a marathon.

I liked it before the cross hatching and I love it now! If you don't want it, it can come and live at my house! And I'll take some of those peanut butter cookies off your hands too if you like.

The cross hatching looks very closely done! It does seem to unify the whole thing though. I like it.

Wanda, you seem to have unlimited energy! I can get tired just thinking about all you do in addition to being a very prolific quilter.

I love it! I really liked it with just the first quilting lines on it, but I really, really like it now! Just beautiful!

I love that table runner. It's so perfect for fall. One can almost see some cranberry or pumpkin candles sitting by it.
