Journal covers again

I was playing with the leftover ends of the yellow stratas from Strips that Sizzle and made them into a journal cover last night. I also finished the one I started the night before. Here is the first one opened up. It was just a fluke that the border at the 2 short edges ended up the same width as the top and bottom borders. These covers are so unplanned when I work on them.
I sliced the strip set from the night before and flipped it. I was paying more attention to TV than the cover though because the stripes in the little sections aren't lined up perfectly with the stripes in the center. I guess I'll have to keep this one for myself, the little reject (which I happen to like just the way it is).
I have started another one with the purple and pink/red scraps.
Today I am going to visit a friend I used to work with. She likes my chocolate chip cookies so I am surprising her with 4 dozen of them since she isn't able to bake any more. I put a dozen in each baggie so she can freeze them and pull them out a little at a time.

The journal covers are cute and a great way to use up what most of us throw away!

Very nice journal covers. I have been admiring your covers for some time. Looked for the tutorial---thank you very much---and looking forward to working on some today on my day off!

The variety in your journal covers is just spectacular! I love that. Chocolate chip cookies are so delicious when taken right from freezer. I think that is my favorite way to eat them. She is sure to enjoy.

you make so many different kinds of journal covers do you sell them or give them away as presents? I don't know many people that use journals although I do have a lot of young relatives that are in college and maybe something like that could be used (only larger?)on 3 ring binder type of books?

'Happy' journal covers ... Each one a little quilt of its own.

I too just made 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies for my nephew when he came home from college with a couple friends. I thought he would be able to take a couple dozen back with him. Ha... all were gone in 2 days. There is nothing like a home made chocolate chip cookie.

I love the journal covers, but I was wondering what you do with them all. They seem so addictive, a great way to use up scraps. And aren't you sweet to bake cookies for your friend!

Hi Wanda,
I like the unmatched stripes on your "mistake" journal cover. If anything goes, then that's not really a mistake.
I, too, am curious about where your journal covers go once you are done. An endless supply of gifts? Art wares?

Now, tell me, when you were at school, did your reports ever mention anything about being an over-achiever? (giggle). I love the journal covers, what a great way to use up your "left-overs".

If I had cookies in my freezer, I'd be taking out one just about every hour til they were gone, I bet.

That's the way I eat pie. Just a small sliver every time I walk past the pie. And before I know it, the whole thing has disappeared.
