so she and I had time to hop in the car and go to 3 quilt shops. I had researched ahead of time to see which ones were open late on Tues. I got these 3 batiks at the second stop. The one in the middle is the exact color I was looking for to use for the triangle corners on my argyle quilt. It is a nice periwinkle. The other 2 were nice light batiks for my stash.
At the third shop I bought the beaters with the red background to make something for my red kitchen. I couldn't pass up the cherries either.
Today we are going to at least 2 more quilt shops after she looks at my quilts this morning. *************
Today is my oldest granddaughter's 22nd birthday. I can remember the day she was born just like it was yesterday. She was the first grandchild too and I made her all kinds of ruffly dresses.
There's nothing better than a little quilt store shopping to relax after that cleaning session. Love those beaters!

PS: the comment that was deleted was from me. It said the same thing! I'm not sure how I ended up deleting it :(
It is so fun to go to quilt shops with a friend! You picked up some beautiful fabrics. I love the beaters in red too! Happy Birthday to you granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day to spend with a friend....did the husband tag along?
ReplyDeleteLove the red eggbeater fabric too.
How fun! Love your quilt shop finds, especially the light batiks. They're so hard to come by! Hope you have fun shopping again today.
ReplyDeleteI love your latest fabric finds! Hope you find more goodies today, and enjoy yourselves!
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric finds and sounds like a great visit too!
ReplyDeleteSo, did the friend find anything? Polka dots, I'm guessing. Hannah
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day, and I love the red fabric!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me what line that egg beater fabric is from? Are it and the yellow and the cherries all in the same collection? I have a black, red, and white kitchen, but I've got a pale lemony yellow on the walls, and I would love to make a small wall hanging out of this stuff!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun and how nice to have that many quilt shops nearby!
ReplyDeleteThankyou for sharing your 'shopping spree' with us. Those batiks are just wonderful. I always enlarge your photo's the detail just pops.
ReplyDeleteI can just picture the reds in your kitchen...those prints are just so much fun. Just love those also.
Tell your friend I am jealous, wish I was the friend going with you to all of these fabric shops.

Oh, please, tell us who makes the beater fabric! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI too would love to know what fabric line the egg beates and the cherries are from, or the name & town of the store you shopped at. My kitchen is also red & white. Thanks
ReplyDeleteOoh, those batiks are gorgeous!! The one on the far right is stunning!!
ReplyDeleteLucky you having all those quilt shops so close!
Red beaters definitely need cherries to go with them.
ReplyDeleteIt is so much fun to shop at the quilt stores with a friend. It appears you two did your own shop hop. I love the red and white beater fabric. I must look for some of that.
ReplyDeleteI NEED & WANT some of that red egg beater material! I would also like to know who makes it. Love the cherries and the yellow polka dot too. The batiks are very elegant looking. Love them all! Excellent choices all around. Hope your friend had good luck finding what she wanted too.
ReplyDeleteHappy quilting!
