I only have 36 blocks to play with for these layouts. I sewed some more blocks later last night. This first one has diagonals all coming from the center. I didn't have enough dark blocks to finsh the outside edge. This next one looks like flying geese.
It's hard to pick a favorite, but I love the colors. However, my first thought was: Your arms must be aching from putting these blocks up on the design wall all these times!!
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me what simply changing the layout can do for a quilt. They are all beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like the one that looks like attic windows from yesterday.
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun to keep rearranging blocks to see what you can come up with. What a lot of options you have here.
ReplyDeleteWELLLL, I like them ALL. And sure WISH I was close by as I'd LOVE to be in that class! BEEYOUTIFUL! lol
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at all the different beautiful variations with those blocks.
ReplyDeleteI like all the sets but that first one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at all the layouts you can come up. Wanda, do you use 4 random strips in 2 color groups or do you follow a pattern? This looks like a lot of fun to make...I wish I could take a class from you.
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful arrangements, but I seem to be partial to the one in the third pic down, and also the one in the last pic. Can't wait to see more tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the different layouts. Such variety. Can't pick my favorite, so I guess I'd recommend you make one of each....thus you need MANY more blocks!

Love them all!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone ever wonders why quilters say "life is not going to be long enough..." I am going to send them to your blog!
ReplyDeleteHow I enjoy the layouts and the patterns you are creating. This is the fun part, now to decide which one you LOVE. And you say more for tomorrow... I'll be checking in.

I like the 4-lights and 4-darks the best, but they are all wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like that very first layout. :-)
ReplyDeleteI know it dminishes the colourwash effect, but I like the flying geese one. I think it stands out more.
ReplyDeleteThey're all lovely, but if I had to choose, I'd choose the third one down in this post. Seems I like the Attic Windows effect. I still see blueberry pie when I look at these fabric combinations!
ReplyDeleteLove all the layouts, sometimes it takes more time deciding on how to stitch it up than to make the blocks. Colours are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI just read an article about amber and purple being so great together. This just proves it.
ReplyDeleteI can not pick which way I like best.
I LOVE! the first one. It is absolutely beautiful. COlorings and everything!
ReplyDeleteHow wil you ever pick just one layout? They are all lovely! Sure wish I lived close enough to attend your class!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your blog and your ideas. These blocks are gorgeous and so much fun in the different layouts. What a dilemna.. they are all gorgeous. And I love your colours.
