so I got a head start on my Tuesday one. I need to choose a light fabric to go in all of the white holes between the rows of 4 patches. I could use a solid color. I have enough Kona snow to do it but I'm going to look through the batiks first. I need 2 or more yards and I doubt if I have that much of any very light batik. I need to get this one finished and off the design wall so a different one can go up. Today I will decide if it gets another row of "argyle" or if I am done.
Yesterday I taught the finishing class and one student was ready to lay out her double 4 patch from the class last month. She chose the radiating diamond layout and got 5 of the 12 rows sewn together before class was over. The other ladies didn't have enough on the wall to take a picture of.
I have a guy coming to repair the stones and pour a new cap at the top of my chimney. He mentioned going up in the attic and I proudly said that I have a stairway to my attic (ranch house). He said oh that's good. And then I got this sick feeling that , oh no, I have a lot of junk piled on those steps and you would have to be an acrobat to get around all of it and up the stairs. I spent a couple hours last night cleaning the space up and vacuuming up all of the winter's dead spiders on the steps. Now he can go up there.

The progress on your quilt is just fantastic! What your student did in the finishing class is just amazing. I love it. I have to say that cleaning up is not one of my favorite things to do especially if spider webs are involved.

your comment on cleaning the attic stairs reminded me of how I always have a "cleaning night" on Monday before the cleaning people come to our house on Tuesday. Funny how having people come is a great motivator!

Wanda, I am loving the two borders on your strips and curves from yesterday's post! Yesterday it didn't load (or perhaps I wasn't patient enough to wait), so I'm seeing it for the first time today.
(Please don't worry, I don't think there's a problem with your blog. Melody's pictures don't always come in right away either. I think it's my connection/ISP/computer or perhaps just my lack of patience.)

I love looking at your blog. I really like the beaded curtain design. I have never made anything that was completely out of batiks, but you have made me start thinking in that direction.

We recently had our loft insulated, and it was a couple of weekends of hard work to sort through all the rubbish and other stuff which has been dumped up there over the 20-odd years we have lived in this house. I feel your attic stairs pain!
