I have the blocks all sewn together.........
and now I have to decide on a border. It measures 62" x 80" right now. It would look good with some kind of a sawtooth border between 2 plain borders. That would be a lot more triangles to piece into squares and that doesn't sound like a lot of fun right now. Maybe by next week I will be ready to tackle that.
We're have another day of high humidity predicted and we are in a heat advisory area too. It sounds like another good day to stay inside. It is my free day on my day of the week quilt plan so I'm not sure what I will do.
This quilt looks fantastic! As you know, I love the color combo. A border would definitely finish it off nicely. I hope the heat and humidity don't get to be too much. Although you may be pretty productive inside sewing.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Marianne, this is a very interesting quilt, it's subtle but the more you look the more you see. I like the palate, not quite as 'exuberant' as usual, but really soothing.
ReplyDeleteI like the way the greens pop out. And the blocks create a very dynamic design; I'm looking forward to seeing the quilt with borders. :-)
ReplyDeleteWanda, I just love this quilt. The colors are great.
ReplyDeleteDid you make this one up or is it a pattern? I think it just might inspire me to do some quilting.

This is turning into one gorgeous quilt. That would be a lot of HST to make for a border. I really like the splashes of green throughout.
ReplyDeleteI love the greens you have going on in this quilt - the color combo is great. I hope you find the ambition to do the HST's for the border, I think that's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I am blown away. I love your quilts. I love the way the colors play across this one. I am a huge fan of pink and green together but never would have thought to use them this way. Really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have forgotten the name you have given to this quilt but I think it should be called Strawberry Jam. I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteRosebud really has 'blossomed' into a lovely piece. And yet you tell us there may be more to come. Your finishing touches always adds the pazazz that takes our breath away.

p.s. recieved my templates on Friday
What a beautiful quilt, I love the colors! Can't wait to see it with the borders.
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteRosebud is gorgeous, with the "Wanda" magic touch for color.
I went hunting in a couple shops for green batiks, and I guess I'll have to keep looking. The current greens, at least at these shops, were very dark, almost black. I bet you have collected your lovely greens over time.

The little touches here and there of green really enliven this one. I can't wait to see what kind of border you decide on.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and points. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can see that you might have had enough of triangles for the time being though.
ReplyDeleteFinish the vanilla quilt! I am anxiously awaiting your colour input in to that quilt.Well maybe not anxiously but I am very curious about it.
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is something green for the border!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful and your border plan sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove your Rosebud. And with your weekly schedule you have some time to work out the border.
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacular quilt that is -- I love that colour combination! It's quite hot and humid here too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors, absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWOW.... WOW.... WOW!
ReplyDeleteWOW WEE, love the colors in your latest quilt, really striking.
