Another successful day..............
I think my plan is going to work. I sewed all of the pieces and parts of the 9 patches for the Vanilla quilt. Here are 243 four and one half inch squares. I never could have done it though without ........
a gabfest with my 2 friends who came over to baste their quilts. One of the ladies was from my art quilter's group and she basted this one.
The other lady and I used to work at the same quilt shop. She basted this one and
also brought these 2 along.
My brother and I took my dad out to eat and when I got home I got some of the other fabrics for the Vanilla quilt cut and paired, ready to sew more 9 patches next Wednesday. Here are some more paired and ready to sew. Today is basting day in my weekly plan. I might also work on a binding for the last queen size quilt that I quilted.

  9. I love the fabrics in your Vanilla quilt. Are you using a specific pattern or one of your own? In my guild I am known for my collection of neutrals. Love 'em!

  13. I absolutely LOVE the two elephant ones. WOW! My daughter would love something like that one her wall (and she is super picky now and mainly girlie when it comes to her room) but her true love is still elephants. Wonder what it would look like in pink and purple...sort of fun-ish take on the super cool quilts?!?! Not that any improvement is needed. Have to call her over to the computer to show her! Guarantee she will love it as much as me. What talent! Thanks for sharing those pics!

  15. Your schedule idea is excellent. I used a similar method to keep on track with a huge counted cross stitch that I wanted to finish. I think I need to do some sorting and organizing like you have done! The end results are worth it!

  20. I don't think Martha Stewart could even keep up with you! You are having fun as well as accomplishing all of your goals.

Fun to see the quilts that your friends are working on also. And those strutting elephants just made me smile.

Vanilla quilt has me watching with great anticipation.

  22. It surprises me that you are making a "Vanilla" quilt. MY DIL asked for a patchwork quilt in all whites and off-whites for a wedding quilt. I was less than inspired and it took me a boring year to piece all the white squares. But oh, when I added some beautiful quilting, that quilt became an heirloom! I added some satin squares for gleam and used a sateen back. You can see it on my blog if you search for "white wedding quilt." I'm sure yours will turn out lovely!

  23. Your quilts are beautiful, as ususal! I think I see some grape and cherry mixed into your vanilla quilt. I can't wait to see it when it's all pieced. Great job.
