Final border.........
I didn't press it yet, just stitched and took a picture. The binding will probably be the same dark purple.
We had a lot of rain late Monday and an overcast day yesterday so the flower bed was still pretty wet. I went out anyway and picked 2 more bouquets. I took the picture last night so today the flowers will be opened to full size and will fill out the bouquet.
love the flowers! the quilt too.

Your quilt has come along great! I think the dark purple binding is the perfect choice, too.
ReplyDeleteOverwhelming peonies! Love the quilt, too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Are you glad you did it?
ReplyDeleteso what size did it end up? is it something you'll do more of?
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks great! I can always tell when it is going to rain. As soon as the Peonies start to bloom the rain comes and beats them to the ground. At least I don't feel so bad about picking them to bring inside.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt looks a lot like a series of windows, looking in, looking out.... you quilted a lot into this one you know. Please tell me it's a keeper.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't notice from all my other comments, I just love the quilt you are creating. It is definitely inspiring me.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is absolutely fabulous! I just love the dark purple border. Your peonies are just gorgeous. I can't wait for mine to bloom.
ReplyDeleteThat purple border is just the right thing for the final touch on this one! My peonies are so far from blooming that I am almost jealous!
ReplyDeleteThe purple border really finishes it off perfectly. My peonies are just tiny buds yet.
ReplyDeleteLove how you finished this piece with the purple outer border echoing the 2d border . . . lovely, lovely piece!
ReplyDeleteAnd those flowers ~ I can smell them all the way from here!
Hugs to you.
I love how you play with these colorful batiks
ReplyDeleteFantastic! And that deep purple peony??? Yum! Your house must smell so sweet =-)
ReplyDeleteDid that scrap of fabric just happen to be next to that vase of peonies as it has all the same colors and tones and values!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. Hope you do too.
The joy of those luscious peonies!!
ReplyDeleteYour string-pieced quilt is stunning! Your blog name is so appropriate.
ReplyDeleteTwo photos of beautiful things! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteThe purple batik is just perfect.
And for some reason it looks even better when the picture is clicked to make it bigger (the bigger picture seems to suck you right into the middle of the quilt top).

ReplyDeletePeony's are just beautiful. When you have a minute could you tell me what kind they are. There are several varieties out there and I want those like yours that mom use to have.
That was me that asked about what kind of peonies they were... J~MT
